Lugs may be slimmer but overall lots of the noise seems to be saying 41mm.

shall we guess sub (no-date) with ‘new’ 3230 movement, blue bezel and/or dial, probably SS (though after the two tone SD, nothing would shock me) with similar lugs to that of the GMT, but remain 40mm or (an unnecessary) beefed up 41mm?

This time around, Rolex has been quite direct, leaving little doubt that it is going to be a Sub, and most probably the No-Date version, and most certainly with a new movement.
But the question is, in what guise?
Case Size: I'm going to bet that the case size is going to remain at 40mm. Why? It seems Rolex uses Tudor to experiment market sentiments, and the Black Bay 58's popularity would be hard not to take note of. Also, flagship models like the Submariner need to appeal to the majority, where even small changes like cranking up the case size by 1mm or 2mm makes a huge impact on whether it alienates large parts of the buyer segment.
Lugs: This I'm making a heavy bet that it will follow a similar profile as the Pepsi GMT. Slimmer lugs, and dare I say more chamfer!
Bezel and Dial: The big one. Is it going to be blue? Assuming we take Rolex literally at its marketing tagline on the "Blue" part, my take is that it will be a Blue ceramic bezel, albeit with a black dial. Why? Having an all blue bezel and dial will surely infuriate those who have spent a lot of money on the white gold "Smurf", and looks too similar to the blue Black Bay 58. That said, there's still a small possibility it might be a gradient blue dial, as some might feel there's still enough differentiation for the Smurf (want a Date feature and a blue bezel/dial, get the Smurf!)
We'll find out in a few days' time. The suspense is unbearable! Lol

Just my guess but I’m thinking it may be a darker blue bezel, similar in shade to the blue half of the so-called Mk3 BLRO.
Rolex used to have a big issue making a steel version of a PM watch that was previously released, but now they seem to have no issue with it. (Pepsi was first in white gold them steel). So, if it looked just like the one you referred to (smurf) but in steel with a new movement it wouldn’t shock me. The smurf also had a date so a no date blue sub would be a differentiator.
Approximate arithmetic
