As I was telling Nicolas in another thread, I thought of indulging myself into some treat in compensation for my over-one-year-and-a-half-for-now wait for my 317...
I wanted something a little more classic and the tuxedo dial of the 29A had always been a curiosity for me. Many had adviced me against it because they said it would be easier to get tired of it, and so many recommended me to go for the PAM 023 instead.
However, I decided to dare and yesterday I just got the 29A which you see in these pictures. I am positively surprised. The tuxedo is not as apparent as some of the photos might imply. You really need to work the angle to get these sort of photos. Otherwise it appears as if the dial is black or it shows the vertical lines but with discretion.
I can't be happier for now. Only time will tell if I will get tired of the dial, but judging on how much time each watch gets on the wrist I would say that is very unlikely.

I know what you mean when you were afraid to get tired with the tuxedo dial on this Panerai.
It is indeed maybe a bit too sophisticated for a Panerai watch, but it looks good, on another side.
So, time will tell you if this 29 is for you, my friend.
As often with early Panerais, the patina is superb.
Congrats!
Best,
Nicolas

Doubt you'll really get tired of it as I'm certainly enjoying mine still after all these years!

Thx DRMW!
Hey, Jester! That blue strap looks great on the watch!! What is it?

Besides the central secs, I also like the bezel on the PAM29 which doesn't get much notice. The big numerals along with the black filled paint adds to the vintage look of the watch IMO.
Cheers,
Anthony
