The watch is a 27C.  I've told this story before but I love to tell it, so here it is again. After we became engaged she secretly began looking for a watch for me.  At the time, I had a collection of one! I wore the Datejust pictured below almost every day for ten years.  She had heard me talk about a Daytona so she wanted to buy me one, but she didn't realize how hard they were to find at the time, nor how expensive they were.  Frustrated, one day she finally admitted she was looking for it and had no luck.  I was touched and told her I didn't want her to spend so much on me.  Coincidentally, my dentist had worn a Panerai while giving me a checkup just days before and I was smitten with the watch, though I knew absolutely nothing about it.  I mentioned it to her and the next weekend we found the only authorized Panerai dealer in LA.  She bought the watch for me at a hefty discount several months before our wedding and made me wait until our wedding day to wear it.  It was so worth the wait.
