I needed advice for the compass!
So you are saying that the compass isn't worth getting?
I am still deliberating!

I think to re-issue the Egiziano in 47mm would be compromising the significance of this iconic piece in Panerai history. I reckon this piece is not meant to be worn much, but rather a piece for collection, made for the avid Panerai collector -- thus the limited numbers of 300. A fair production number I'd say, because not many would blow 20K odd Euros, but just about enough (hypothetically) for those who want a piece of the 'action' in which I mean to say, get their hands laid on an Egiziano, where the vintage Es are so scarce. So first a re-issue of this giant in 60mm, and maybe later on, one in 47mm would be a nice touch to add
if Panerai will ever make a 'small' 47 mm version of the Egiziano, this piece is unique as it is and that means 60 mm like it or not, they'd have to make a specially new case again as it is not 100% the same with any other 47mm case, so I realy doubt if they will do that.
I agree this piece is hardly wearable for most people, but be honnest it's not meant to be, as it was conceived to wear over a divers suit. For the
real collectors it'll surely be a 'must have' to aquire
)) I think the price is +/- correct, given that they made an entirely new watchcase, dial,
saphire and bezel for it and all this for only 300 pc which isn't much to get out of the costs. I bet flipper prices will reach at least the double, if you
see how much the 203's are going.
So my conclusion is : the 341 is a real collectors item for those who have money to spend on watch you can't wear but gives you the pleasure to
have it in your collection, I'm sure they're all sold out by now !
Although i'd like to correct the part about those having money to buy watch that one can't wear!
LoL, because i'm going to buy it(1st on list for Japan), and i'm going to wear it!
Cheers

....should be designed to wear over a suit. The real question is why was this so enormous in the first place?
And more questions for the knowledgeable:
Was the original commissioned in 1956?
Why why why didn't Panerai use Acrylic instead of Sapphire?
And what's with the Maiale on the caseback?
Let's take a completely different brand ... Patek philippe
I'm pretty sure there are a lot of collectors out there who have many Patek's. A dream for a PP collector is imo the 2499. Well, I'm pretty sure the big, wealthy collectors will probably own a 2499 one day and I'm also sure they buy this watch only because they want to own it. I wouldn't be surprised if this 2499 is barely on the owners wrist. He'll probably have a few other PP's he can and will wear frequently. I guess 'knowing' he has a 2499 is enough, he doesn't need to wear it. Looking at his 2499 every evening will probably give enough satisfation.
I guess it's the same with the 341 Egiziano. You just don't need to wear it every day. You love it, you treasure it and you're damn happy you're one of the lucky 300 privileged Panerai clients.
is the fourth piece of the equation, indeed.
Like you said, "If some of you already have the 127, the Cali, and the Compass, I think that this Egiziano is a must have". Totally agree with you.
I love all in this watch (case, bezel, indexes with the same tratement that in the 249, the material used, its History.... all)
An impressive watch, a watch to love, to admire and.... an unwearable watch.
But, at the end of all, this watch is THE HIT this year. I think, that it´s a watch to hunt if you are a true Panerai lover (if you bank allows you to it...LOL).
A question for you hermano: Are you thinking about it???? LOLOL.
Great job like always Nicolas.

with these kind of pieces... Great Hermano!.
And for Panerai it´d be really good.... a True Lover and Apassionate collector who loves and understand this brand, this Laboratorio de Ideas!.
Best my Apassionate friend.

Although my wrist is not that big, if i get one it will be spending some time on my wrist.
Alepos
the way Panerai does the vintage tinted as they did on the Cali...which give both watch more vintage look! But the 60mm diameter is not a daily watch, on the otherhand...I think it is more or less the watch for GTG.
Anyway, the Egiziano will definitely be the big hit to the collectors.
