Officine Panerai

Hi, I cannot make up my mind. I love the more clean/simple dial models in general.
At the moment I have narrowed my favourites down to: the newer look 44mm PAM 560, more vintage looking 44mm PAM 590 or go for the 47mm 422? Also like the 372 (which I am sure has a lot of admirers), but somehow can see myself being annoyed by (too many) scratches on the plexi.

Any thoughts on the above would be must appreciated and hopefully that can help me to decide?

Thank you very much for the reply. Has this already been released? I just checked the Panerai website, but it still states it comes just with plexi. 2016 release?

the staff of the Florence boutique confirmed to me, a while back, the use of sapphire starting in 2016.

I only have one Panerai, but it's a tritium destro. It's unique because of those two characteristics. If you want a base model, all you need to do is pick between sandwich or sausage dial, lefty or righty, Luminor or Radiomir, Good luck.

Do you want an 8 day or not? Do you want a base (2 hands) or marina (w/ seconds)

Do you want 44 or 47mm? Real difference...

Lots of other deciding factors;

Including pp 5980 blue dial, AP roo Safari (old model), sea dweller (z serie) and glasshutte panomatic lunar (grey version)
Which makes me a bit tempted to go for a 'simple' dial and 47mm

Why?  Because it uses the traditional 44mm Luminor historic case.  Plus, the dial is a killer too

For your 2nd Panerai, I'd get the PAM372 assuming it has the sapphire crystal that Sergio says it will have.

for a neophyte the PAM to start with should be: 000, 111, 112, 005. That if you have been bitten by the Panerai "bug" and as you'll pay for your..first...Panerai, you're already thinking at which one you'll buy next If you have in mind ONE Panerai, go for the 372 now, before you change your mind and muck it all up hahaha IMO of course Ciao

Fall in love with the brand then add to your stable. This will give you a chance to really know what you want. You will also have the reflection of others around. To me the base model are like a basic Rolex submariner.

You cant go wrong this way.

Thank you all for the much appreciated input. I had a quick look at some models at a dealer and think I have a preference for the slightly more vintage dial look, so guess it will be 422 (or 372 when it comes with sapphire glass) or the 590.
