If there is one thing that I love nearly as much as watches, it is definitely good food. Now, judging by past posts I've seen on the Time Out sub forum, several other Purists share my sentiments!
Anyway, why not have a dedicated food thread, for all the wonderful and interesting meals you've had, and were lucky enough to capture on film. I'll start.
The following photos are from my birthday weekend in HK last week:
Restaurant: Cafe Grey Deluxe @ The Upper House
Just a few shots of the wonderful breakfast
Scrambled eggs en brioche topped with salmon roe and caviar
Ha kao and Sio mai (Prawn and pork dumplings)
The most amazing waffle I've ever tasted in my life, topped with creme fresh, berry compote and light drizzled in caramel
French toast made from panettone, crusted in oatmeal and cornflakes, topped with creme fresh, berry compote and ground pistachios
Restaurant: Morton's of Chicago
The beauty, and the (menu of) meat
Lobster Bisque with a surprise who claw in there!
Lobster cocktail, very Americana tasting haha!
Mixed vegetable salad with a blue cheese dressing
And surely one cannot forget the prime rib! Cooked medium rare, absolute perfection...
Of course, they had to pull out the birthday sundae on me...
A shot of my family... can you guess which one is me :p
Restaurant: L'atelier Joel Robuchon
The cornucopia of breads
The Amuse Bouche, Cream of corn soup with white truffle foam, and fried purple potato stuffed with chorizo
Mixed green salad, with king crab leg, burrata, toasted parmesan cheese and a light vinaigrette. This one was wonderfully rich thanks to the burrata!
This was was absolutely amazing. Lobster and langoustine stuffed ravioli, drizzled with foie gras sauce, topped with shaved black truffles, and sour cabbage.
Lets just get a better look at that...
Chef Robuchons interpretation of a creme of cauliflower soup, with a soft poached egg, jabugo ham, and truffle oil.
Sea bass with a lemon grass and ginger sauce, asparagus foam, and whole white asparagus.
A beautifully presented seared cod, marinated in miso and mirin.
An unconventional, yet delightful combination in this dish. Spaghetti Alfredo with spinach, a poached egg, and uni (sea urchin)!
The richness of the uni beautifully complimented the heavy cream, and added a nice, almost sweet taste to the mix
Fowl done two ways. Seared duck breast paired with fresh foie gras in a raspberry balsamic reduction.
A nice little touch to end the dinner. A sugar ball containing a raspberry mouse. It looked more a christmas ornament if you ask me! Although, true "haute" cuisine!
Food porn rocks doesn't it?
Post your food shots!
Best,
Enrique
PS:
When hung over, it's always such a pleasure to wake up to eggs benedict
Cheers boys!
