Watching Deadliest Catch, Dirty Jobs, and Hazard Pays on Discovery Channel. I like those shows!!!! I always like to see how people earn their life differently. And make me realize how good my job is. Sometimes you got to see the bad to realise how good you have.
Typing this during commercial break. Got to go. Deadliest Catch rerun is on again.
I think I watched it twice already.
You ever watch the show where Andrew Zimmern eats all these unusual delicaties on his show "Bizarre Foods" on Travel channel?
Cheers,
Anthony
truly.
There is one which is at least equal in taste: the white snow crab of Perth/Australia.
Equally a big crab where you eat the legs only, preferably with pepper and salt, quite expensive but wonderful in taste. I was in Perth several times and each time went many evenings for this crab.
Together with an Australian Western wine (Chablis of course) is a wonderful treat.
Warm regards
Lord Arran
I tried Japanese snow crab in Nagoya. You eat the leg raw with wasabi. Yummy. Then you boil the body (sukiyaki) mix with other vegetables. After that you use the leftover soup to boil a porridge. Now the soup is so sweet with crab & vegetables flavor, it makes the best porridge I've ever eaten. To top it off, drink cold sake
I got to do this every February. Am I lucky or what?
I tried: 2 weeks boiled egg, boiled lizard, water coakcroach in guangdong, sea worms, snake skin stir fry, stinking beancurd, horse meat in Japan, raw beef meat in Holland, etc.
The best meat? Chicken! KFC to be precised
Ah man, I tried stinky tofu twice and each time I smelled and tasted the stench while gulping down the tofu.
Very nasty IMO :P
But some people LOVE it!
Cheers,
Anthony
Stinking tofu is bad, but durian is super yummy
Try Malaysian durian, the best in the world. The aroma & sweetness are superb. If you take the over-ripe durian, you can get alcohol taste (the sugar fermented already). Yummy yummy

in all southeast asia: airplanes, expensive hotels and restaurant, public transportations (taxies and buses), and most foreigners' houses
I like KFC (well, trained to like it) because it's the 1st fast food chain to hit Jkt in 1970's. So maybe I'm used to the taste. They say the food that you ate while growing up is the one that you like the most.
The way we eat the chicken is different here: with rice and sweet and spicy sauce.
2 upper thighs, 1 bowl of rice, 1 pepsi with ice pls. To go
3 crispy chicken strips, string beans, mash potatoes and gravy, and diet coke
Hmmm maybe i'll go eat KFC for lunch today!
Cheers,
Anthony
Have you ever had Dungeness Crab? In the Pacific Northwest (eg. British Columbia, Canada) it is delicious! Of course, Gulf Coast stone crab at Joe's in Miami is as good as it gets!
