We used to take my wife’s mother and sisters to Hawaii every year but now that her mother is 93, every time we’re in a bar we put the glasses together, take a picture and send it to her with a “cheers”.
People have looked at us funny thinking oh great …another damn instagramer sharing their stupid life.
My son plays for a local symphony's youth orchestra
I saw MORE "boomers" on their mobiles during the concert while most youth had their phones put away.
The youth were there (mostly) as musicians supporting siblings.
The elders were there as "oh, I got dragged to watch little Johnny/Susie's thing", despite the high quality of music.
Once upon a time I thought bad behavior was a quality of youth, as I've aged I realize how many people use their age as an excuse, and mobile devices are just the latest example.
I got a tripod to record my son...
...specifically so I did NOT have to experience his events through a viewfinder!
