Is that the late 60's edition?
that is a rare beauty
i've never seen one with the red hands before although i have heard rumours. they really finish it off perfectly.
a very nice addition to anyones collection. in fact a dream addition.

I'm unsure about the hour, minute and running seconds ...
There we could locate one, with this dial and red chronograph hand but all other hands are white.
Notice alto that the Omega logo is also in red.

I go to try to take a better full page picture this weekend and somebody can translate the text.
My friend also stated that this watch is VERY RARE and he, in 20+ years collecting Speedmasters never saw one in flesh.

I have that book and also one on seamasters.

Nilo,i've noticed a couple of other things that are different as well
In the book the red chrono second hand is a moonwatch hand with a lume diamond at the point, but brevets watch has a mkII red chrono seconds hand. A simple point and flat rear end.
Sadly the picture wont expand enough to see if the small hands have been painted not that that would help as omega speedy hands dont have the best paint finish out of the factory.
the mkII centre hand would 'possibly' indicate that it has an 861 calibre inside.
Lots more details required i think.

Interesting question ztirual amd i cant believe we havent asked it before as it is really the pivotal question.
The different references could mean different movements as this was the change over period.
I will await brevets response.

This is a genuine racing dial from 1968....
The case was 145.012 67
They were made in 1968 and I have seen three
I owned one 4 years ago

Thanks Imran. It does show that Mr brevets watch has the incorrect centre second hand, but thats allowable bearing in mind how difficult a red one would be to replace :)

technically...yes and no.....red central hand was available at that time tooo.....Ultraman

as you can see, all of this was available arounf 1968...would not have been difficult to put the red hand on!
