. . . where vintage models (like yours) and modern issues (like Kurt's) are equally appreciated by yours truly. Of course, the vintage Railmaster has a cachet that current models can't approach, but they were for the longest time my favorite current offering from Omega. I came close to getting one of the 36 mm versions . . .
. . . that was a perfect fit on my wrist, but held off. I was contemplating several sports watches at the time, including models from G O, Grand Seiko, Rolex, and Zenith, and this Railmaster was the most affordable of the lot. Ultimately, I went with the Zenith. Since then, I've heard thru the grapevine that Omega is developing a manual winding version of the cal 8500; if they end up reissuing the Railmaster a second time with a modern in-house movement, I'm sold!
