Hello Guys

this is a project very close to completion.    In the years I have completed the Seamaster 300 twisted lug series (165.024, 166.024,  165.024 Royal Navy, 165.024 in NOS conditions).   That was between 2000 and 2005.

Then I started the Seamaster 300 straight lug series (CK2913, CK14755, CK 165.014).  I found three canonic pieces, all original except two bad bezels and two furniture Omega crowns.

Six years later, I can present you the final product, with ALL ORIGINAL bezels (not Aldo's), and only one furniture crown left to change.

Please note the slight difference of the 2913 back, where the cut-offs for opening the back are shorter.

I am very pleased, these are watches that really make me smile today.

... no lollipop and no inverted numerical scale.   Early 2913 had inverted numerical bezel, and lollipop.  On this one would have been wrong , because it is a 2913-3 of Aug 1958, too late for those.  But ... have all the original bracelets (7077, 7912, 1506 and 1039) with proper endlinks (n.6, n. 516, 506 etc )

Perhaps an early 2913 will come at some stage.

here is a collage of pics of my other SM300s, twisted lugs.   These as the previous ones are all confirmed by Omega Extracts, inncluding the Royal Navy.

Unfortunately all in a different light etc, next time I go to the bank I will take them out and do a good photo job of them

A NOS  which is not a Watchco ( supposing that a Watchco can be seen as a  NOS, but this is another question... )  is something improbable to find, and you did iit!

I had a superb 165 024 " straight lugs " ( the first version ) which is sadly part of the watch " gone ", really superb, with a great patina.

And what to say about your RN? Just a gorgeous specimen of a legend.

The only one I am not fan of is the 166 024... Just because of the date, but I guess that whne you want to close this topic, you have to get this one, too.

Yes, I would love to see a family picture of these 4! That may well be a first on the net.

Was this the reason why you sacrificed some of your 30 Rg chronometers?

buying them is easy, completing them properly much much less easy.   The chronometrers I sold recently they were sold either because they were doubles, or to buy the thing below, or for both reasons.

worth the wait. I would love  to get hold of just one of these.

Finding examples with complete original bezels are getting harder and harder.

I find myself with only one Seamaster 3oo left in my collection.... 2913-2 with the countdown bezel but no lollipop hand...  

I would up keeping more chronometres !! go figure ....

I have no hard proofs, it is just result of collective thinking.  What I know is that I have never seen a vintage Omega catalogue/brochure with the lollipop seconds hand in a 2913, not even in Steve Waddington's collection.  But I would love to know better.

I have instead seen the inverted numerical in the brochure of the launch (image from "george_sg" ), which must be a CK2913-1 or simply CK2913   (see below).

Have seen enough examples that look original enough to believe it.  Can't make any hard and fast rules though about which 2913 version would have it.

Is that the -3 can have either - I have seen examples with original bezels in both forms for this model.  I believe either bezel type is correct.  It's not like these bezels grow on trees so if you see -3 with an intact original bezel then it is likely that it is original to the watch.

This is great focus, I love this first version of the Seamaster, one of the most if not the most elegant vintage diver with its thin bezel, and I love this theme as well.  I have been working on a similar yet different them, which is to try and get one nice example of each brand, so for Omega I have a 1961, 14755 with an inverted "30" bezel which I believe has been re done by Omega, for the rest here is my quintet, no dates from this period 1955-1961

I too am in the middle of the same journey, having started some years ago with a 165014. Then at the beginning of this year I managed to find a 2913-3 with straight seconds hand.

After that I was completely smitten and very soon after came this 2913-7  which brings me to the time frame of the lollipop discussion

 

  It  was originally delivered to Japan in May 1961 and as you can see it has a lollipop seconds hand. It came to me via the nephew of the original owner who worked for Agriculture and Fisheries and has certainly led a life. The dial/hand patina has a turned a kind of sand grey colour and matches perfectly, knowing the history of this watch somewhat I can only believe that this is the original configuration, but I hasten to add that I am no expert.

Here  the 2913-3, 14755 and 165014 together, the 2913-7 is at this moment in pieces at my watchmakers and two of the bezels are in Italy for refurb.
