Well, not much of teasing for those who will instantly recognize the characteristic shape of this watch...
I'll reveal the flip side when I can do justice to its beauty. It is a watch that is quite difficukt to take in picture. Will need to buy a new camera, sometime next month

I sent you last night a long pm in french or thought I had, as it turned out that the message was never sent and I cannot find any trace of it now. I am fuming as this is not the first time it happens using watchprosite pm function. I must have done something wrong...when pressing the 'send' buttom my long message vanished, as if it had been sent for real. When I checked this morning, pfffff gone, not a single trace of it.

In a nutshell, I wanted to sympatise about your repeated lack of chance in getting the watches you have been looking for since the beginning of the year. I also wanted to tell you that as often, you got it spot on about the origin of the watch.

for posting pictures of you 2 nice pre-war Omega pilot watches.
Very interesting comment you make there about the subtle variation in relation to the the bezel. Take the digit number 3 on the 2 bezels for instance, it is plain to see that one is rounded whilst the other one has a flat top. Thanks for pointing this out.

Many thanks for posting one of your beauties. Does your other watch have the same bezel configuration? I notice slight differences with Achim's watch and mine, for example in the size and font of the arabic numerals.

the numerals on the bezel had lume as well. and there should be a engraved dot behind the 6 on the bezel, filled with lume as well. kind regards. achim

about the engraved dot at 6, Achim... There might have been a dot originally beside the 6 marker on the bezel but not engraved. My watch has rest of lumes but only at 12 where has has been protected by the pointed arrow. I have examined the bezel and I can't see any dot. On the picture that you post I cannot really see the luminous dot that you mention. Can you check this carefully on your item and document what you write? I know that some other pilot watches of that period have this feature but here I can't see. No trace of such a feature on any of the pictures of ck2042 that I collected. There isn't any trace of this dot on the ad/ catalogue of the time, see below. Such a dot might have been a form of post production 'customization'. Just my 2 cents.
Please notice the '3' on the bezel similar to Erich's watch. My bezel is similar to yours, as are half of the ck2042 that I know of.

Hello KCKL, I am not sure I understand your post. Do you mean that a gentleman posting on this forum has bought one of Omega's reeditions of this pilot watch (form Omega's Museum collection)?
As far as my watch is concerned, well, I do indeed hope it is an original vintage one. Omega's Extract of Archives states that the watch was delivered to Germany on 15th December 1938.

I dont doubt yours not being original.  What I meant was VMM another forum member bought the re-issued which is nice and yours is the vintage.  I mentioned "could be original vintage" cos i could not see the dial of yours.  Regards

i look forward to seeing yours when you are ready to show it to us ztirual and its great to see everyone elses. hard to believe the condition after 70-80 years. i always loved the model with the long crown stem, but i was never lucky enough to find one. i managed to own and destroy a Zenith example with my fumbling fingers so perhaps it was good for the vintage stock that i didnt find one

these original pieces also show how accurate the Museum piece was. i had one of those and didnt really appreciate it at the time.

lovely pieces becoming increasingly rarer as years go by so having 2 is a little bit greedy especially when Vlad craves for the soul of an Omega pilot.

i'll keep my eyes peeled for your finished results
