That buckle should have looked like something other than the top/lid of a coffin.
Those I have in bracelets are not this design 😅...the Ed white and Speedy 57 has those flatter design quite similar to rolex.
This design is from the PO Ultra Deep and carries over to the latest PO....
A coffin is what Dracula was buried in, so technically this clasp is casket shaped, but your point stands ;-)
Really puzzling design choices
That part of the clasp is going to take most of the beating, having it finished to a high polish makes no sense whatsoever unless they use some special alloy or coating. It does look like the main requirement from management/marketing was to make the watch as shiny and with as many angles as possible, just plain weird.

Yes many brands continue to go with some form of polished finish on their clasps 🤷🏻♂️ It is very shiny with many angles. I will try to see this in the metal soon, but really don’t see my opinion swayed
