I didn’t care much for the words. Not even a big fan of Clooney although I did like The American very much. It’s what was on his wrist that got my attention. I’m sure the small group of 2254 fans here will find this interesting

I had a 2254 for a while ...
... but shifted it. Just can't bring myself to like the Seamaster shape. Would like to try a Goldeneye blue professional, but I'm sure I'd wear it once and sell it.
Understandable. It is a period watch arguably. But as far as dated looks go, this one dates very well as a 90’s design vs others.

I loved Miami Vice growing up - the TV show of course - and NCFOM is really amazing. Tremendous acting, and as you say, the pace is perfect.

My pal Scott bought the very same Seamaster about seventeen years ago from an AD. Wore it for a quite awhile as an everyday beater, then one day scratched it on a rock while surfing. Shortly afterwards, he put it up for sale and let go of it.
A few years later he missed his old companion, and searched the usual sources. He came across a 2254 on TimeZone's FS forum. When he took a close look at the photos, he was amazed to find his SM staring back at him! He could tell by the scratch.
He ended up losing a few bucks buying it back from the third owner by paying more than what he sold it for.
