Have tried it a few times but this morning was the first time I tried it on the bracelet. I like how the bracelet looks but I didn’t realize how it works, and the excess which wraps under the wrist. Together with the deployant it’s not so comfortable on my wrist.
I held off [on getting this timepiece] for 2-3 years because of how unhappy I was with the deployant clasp of the bracelet, and how it stuck out.

I eventually caved in and got it with the nato strap, and have worn it with straps ever since. Easily one of my favorites, but that deployant clasp is a no-go for me. Water resistant straps from Hirsch and Molequin (this particular one) do the trick just fine (IMHO).
It saved you more than thousand dollars, well done! I couldnt pass the bracelet, got the short version, and a quite happy with it even though i know what problems you mean...
Aah, thats bad. I fully understand! Glad you still bought it, many people tended to not buy at all after they realized that the bracelet has some issues!
Full disclosure, the watch I tried today had the medium size bracelet. However for me it was hard to think the small bracelet would solve the problem given how much “tail” I had on the medium.
I tend to think it will solve the problem. The clasp is still thick, but it will not overlap anymore as long as you dont have wrists similar to a very thin woman...
It was the height of the clasp, the location on the wrist bone, and curvature of the inner part of the clasp. Just didn’t work for my flat 6.5 inch wrist
