Beautiful, looks like a museum piece
I'm impressed by the definition of the case, lugs, and bracelet. The dial is so clean... this watch looks like it came out of a time capsule. Even the stepped joint between the lugs and case is crisp! Congratulations on this rare piece in rare condition.

Ref 2518? After a very long search . . .
. . . I finally latched onto a '49 ref 2576 . . .
. . . with a cal 343 under the hood last year, but as fate would have it, the prior owner wanted it back in the worst way, and I just didn't have it in me to say 'no'.
Your example is damn near NOS, Tony. Is there a background story?

Interesting, Art, but to your great credit to have returned it.
Mine is double stamped 2576 and 2518. I found it at auction, and decided that it would be worth the premium based both on condition, and the value of the heavy, 18k aftermarket bracelet. The movement is pristine.
