Today was an Omega Saturday
I missed wearing a Speedmaster so I went to the bank vault to swap out a couple of Speedies to wear during this rotation while checking in some others.
I'll have a separate post or two on the Speedmasters that I brought out along with some more detailed photos. Here's a teaser photo of my current Omega collection. Except for a Watchco Seamaster 300 (165.024) every Omega is a Speedmaster :-0

When it comes to white dial Speedmasters . . .
. . . (and there have been a few), the ultimate would be the white gold 25th anniversary moon landing model issued in '94 . . .

I had an opportunity to acquire one (on the white gold bracelet, no less) eight years ago; it would've been a keeper had I made the sacrifice back then.

What is it about the speedmaster that you like so much? I have the DSOTM ceramic model which is terrific but one is enough for me. Are there differences between each one that you like? Just interested. Great pictures. Very nice watches.

The Speedy Pro and Pre-Pros are deep
So many differences and variations especially in the early years. Omega was changing configurations yearly. You can concentrate your entire collection on Speedies and not get bored. Straight lugs, turned lugs, cal. 321, cal 861/1861/1863, applied logo on dial, painted dial, long indices, short indices, want some variation from the Moonwatch, there's the Racing models, and on and on.

So you really seem to be into the details and a true fan of this model. So forget about the first sight and spent time with the details. Sounds right to me.

Pretty cool collection.
You could be an astronaut, test-flight pilot, F1 driver, track meet timer, egg boiler and a few other things without wearing the same Speedie twice. Nice!
