All house the new cal 4800
The 38 mm Laureato has been discontinued. Maybe the same will happen to the 42 mm as well.
IMHO, the 36 mm and 39 mm will be the two new sizes. The 41 mm will be reserved for Uber rare pieces... 50 or less LEs.
The return of the laureato in 36 mm to honor the rare laureato 8010 from 1995 is especially exciting for me.
Also nice to see the blue dial 39 mm with no date. It has a clear enamel fired coating over the metal clous de Paris dial. Quite interesting.
The 39 mm salmon dial is made of rose gold.
The 36 mm silver dial comes with a diamond bezel only for now. Can a full steel bezel be an option in the future?
My pick if I had to choose one would be the 36 mm salmon dial. 🥰
Best,
Marc Naidu
The crazy price aside, i like this watch...but only on 36mm models, where they still put minute markers .

Don't understand why the omit minute markers on the 39mm models. Trying too hard to be minimalistic is not always good. Coupled with the absent of text on the six o clock position, the dial looks empty, generic and boring. An integrated bracelet watch need minute markers IMO. This is no Panerai by any means. This is also the reason i prefer Bvlgari Octo Roma than Octo finissimo.
And the price...almost 10K more than Land dweller and Ingenieur...good luck, GP. You will need it badly.
A million times better looking than a land dweller IMHO

🤣 Just sayin... And price is in the same brackets as the OS, RO and Nautilus. So I don't see why not. What I await to see is secondary market prices. If GP has learned it's lesson yet or not. That is the only truth on prices for me... Value retention.
Tastes are different, so i respect yours. I have no doubt about the quality of finishing of this new models.

The movement is excellent and with modern features (finally) like anti magnetic etc. The execution of bracelet and case is beautiful. I just feel the dial on the blue dial 39mm is too sterile and lack of character.
Regarding the price...market will decide if the price is appropriate or not, by looking at secondary price. Myself, i would not hesitate to get the 36mm model in blue dial, when the pre-owned price settle to around 10K to 12K. Or just get the discontinued 38mm models which available now for about 8K.

It's almost like you wish the brand failure? 🤷🏻♂️ Strange left handed comments. You could be right about secondary market prices, but I for one hope for great demand and GP management controlling their errant ADs that bundle. I wish nothing but the best for GP... As I hope all of us here do. 🤝
Of course i want GP to survive. They are one of the few true manufacturers with rich history and very diverse models.

I feel very unfortunate that they don't have AD here so i can try their models. As you have pointed out some times ago, pre-owned GPs are the best route for us who are not billionaire to acquire their fantastic time pieces. I don't know, maybe because of the economic scale of production, their prices lately are very high compared to few years ago. Still don't prevent ne to admire the Laureatos though. Thanks Marc
Pre owned is the way to go for sure but I don't celebrate or look forward to some of the secondary market prices. It's totally crap for the brand image and GP deserves better.
It is systemic of poor distribution control for new watches. For example, if you look at the prices of the neo vintage of the the Laureato 8010, you will see prices going up and up for them. Why? ADs can't screw around with them by bundling and other games.
Anyway, we move on. Come to Singapore and you can try them all on and so come see me and try mine on.
I love the best vintage Laureato 8010 even more at 36 x 7.9 mm 2 mm or so thinner. But I do like the new 36 mm as well. I'll just habr to get them all 🤣
Ever since the first Laureato 50 launch, I've been waiting for them to do an all steel version of the new design with the new movement. I'm really thinking of getting the 39 mm with the blue dial.

The 39mm looks amazing. I love that the initials are removed on both dial and clasp. This looks so much cleaner. I hope to see in person. I am not in the market for a new watch but if I were this would be at the top of the list.
