the date window adds to it's uniqueness.  I like it.

are many features quite unique here.

I am not a big fan of date windows. But here it works somehow. And you can see the massive thickness of dial.

The whole watch makes a robust Impression.

Also the bracelet, which is very strong and wears as smooth as silk at the same time.
I visited GP's watch manufacture around 15 years ago. I was very impressed at the time because each link of the bracelet was individually milled from a full block of steel.

I start to rediscover this brand again.

My wife wore her Vintage 45 for a very long time.

And I had a very nice Sea Hawk which I sold to fund my grail watch.








Perhaps it’s time again for a new GP?

This Vintage 45 has a long history. It was one of the first watches that I bought for my wife. If I remember correctly this is approximately 25 years ago.

My spouse wore this watch on a daily basis at least 7 or 8 days.

Then it became more and more a safe queen since the first (watch) love of my wife is a Moser.

In the meantime this GP has developed a lovely patina. And my wife rediscovered this beauty a few weeks ago.

What colour was the dial originally? Crazy how it changed, it's noticeable with the darker sides.

The colour of the original dial was a light beige respectively light sand.

The edges look darker in the photo than in reality. But it cannot be denied that the edges have become darker and the color of the entire dial has also darkened.

However that may go.

The last years the watch was stored in our bank vault. The watch has been serviced regularly and has not been exposed to any moisture.

The watch is about 25/26 years old. We bought it new from our AD.
The patina developed slowly in the last decade.

charm, emotions and history.

It was the third watch I bought for my wife. And she wore it almost 24/7 for a decade.

They are tops and have the good taste to be very affordable. Something like that:

Yes, the prices are really fair. And - as far as I have learned personally - the GP’s quality is top.

Regarding Panerai's … strange actions regarding their pretended „in-house“ movements … I am a little more careful now.

Is GP in the case of the vintage series ... more well-behaved?
