This just came in and though I really like the idea of the watch(beauty, slim, quality, micro rotor movement and wool strap), i just feel like it is missing something.
Maybe it will grow on me.

This is a very solid reference, really like it!
I tried the white metal one with blued hands (steel I believe) and really liked its charm.
The brand has been known to drop quite a bit in value if you want to resell but these are watches which deserve a serious look. They are discreet, well executed and with a modern twist. Very classy, I do not own one but would certainly like to

I've always had a soft spot for the XP - simple, clean, well-balanced, and driven by a solid in-house caliber (even without a Geneva seal or QF certification).
I especially like the applied numerals and the current modified dauphine hands.

L.U.Cs...Maybe the lack of a seconds hand and hence no movement on the dial?
Have you tried it on other straps? Maybe something dressier would be more to your liking?
Or maybe it is the lack of a seconds hand, as someone else mentioned. I think XP and XPS have a strong but subtle character, you either really like them or you find them too subtle and underwhelming. Dial texture is what draws me to some of them, and also the hand shape. The micro-rotor is definitely nice, but you have to like the design first, I think.
+1 I wonder about that textile strap, too. I might be tempted to try reptile, or even stingray. [nt]

The check wool detracts from the elegance of the dress watch. Plain, flat reptile - easy to change.

This is a perfect
and a top class dress watch. Two hands, no date, clean dial and thin case. What else is there to have for a watch to accompany your evening out.
A fantastic under-the-radar watch
I really like the applied numerals, which are curved on top, instead of flat. It gives a wonderful play of light and visual interest to the dial.
Total class — understated, discrete and impeccable. And the blue cashmere strap gives a wonderful air of insouciance and casual elegance. This is my idea of a true connoisseur’s watch.
But, if it doesn’t sing to you..., well, don’t try to make it work. Go with your emotion.

I love Chopard
I'm a big Chopard fan and have this one is steel with the clue wool strap. I don't think the wool strap qualifies as a "dressy" watch and would have it on alligator or other exotic leather if I had the gold case. Regardless, it's been a solid performer with no problems. Plus, I like micro rotors!
I'd think a lighter colour strap will bring some life to the overall look..
.try to mix and match with diff straps to give it a different look...

To keep this watch. Over the last week or so, this watch really just grew on me. It's so discreet yet so modern and beautiful. It takes a level on confidence to wear it. Thank you all for giving me a different perspective on the watch. But the story does not end here. He now has a new brother. Just came home, today. RD Sympathie PC Bi retrograde. I don't know why I even took a pic of this watch. No picture does this watch justice. The Sympathie is pure emotion on the wrist. And with the LUC Chopard, its real balance.
