Hi Guys!!!
Feels great to receive such warm and sincere welcome from so many of you...really appreciate it guys!
I've only started collecting limited edition AP watches early last year and have not purchased any boutique limited edition nor country themed limited edition AP watches (e.g. Pride of Siam). Somehow I don't find these series of AP limited edition watches desirable.......perhaps someone can enlighten me otherwise?
My very first AP watch was a Shaq O'Neil and my favourite (which should surprise many) is the Grand Prix Rose Gold cos it really looks good on my wrist.
I am adamant on purchasing a few more AP pieces to add to my current collection and they are, RB1, End of Days and Sebastian Buemi. Just managed to purchase a Jarno Trulli from a distributor in Singapore yesterday. Any one care to suggest what other models I should add to my collection?
I am also getting my watches photographed individually by a professional within the next few weeks and will post them once they are done.
Looking forward to hearing from you guys more!
Cheers!
Jeff

Fabulous AP's you have there!
Adding a rose gold Rubberclad would add diversity to your collection IMO
Cheers,
Anthony
Unfortunately my focus is still on limited or special edition watches and unless it is unique (in my case the white ceramic novelty), I would normally pass on normal production models.
Thanks for the suggestion anyway! Appreciate it.
Jeff
My own general take on AP and Patek watches.......please note that I've only started collecting watches in less than 2 years and therefore should not be taken as an expert opinion.
AP watches are larger sized (average 44mm) and are more sporty in nature. Limited edition designs are plenty and are moderately priced. Complications only include chronograph, dual time, perpetual calendar, lunar calendar and tourbillion
Patek watches are smaller and are more elegent in nature. No limited edition but special edition pieces are reserved for recognized clients (customers who have spent 7 figures on their watches from the boutiques). Prices for basic models are on the high side whereas high complication models can retail at 6 figures easily. Complications covers the entire spectrum which includes World time, Minute Repeater and Split Second. Patek watches are also known to have many models made from all precious coloured metals i.e. Yellow/Rose/White Gold and platinum. Some patek watches are known to fetch high prices through auctions.
