Chasing the blue
Dear All,
Sharing a few shots of my latest acquisition - got a surprise call just before Christmas and I’m beyond happy with it!!!
The Royal Oak is the watch which started my passion for watchmaking more than 15 years ago, at that time the RO were widely available (I once walked in the AP boutique in Paris in 2007 or 2008 and could try (and buy if I wanted) a blue 15202 which at 15k€ list price felt too expensive 
) but I could not afford it.
) but I could not afford it. Now I can afford it ( at retail) but there’s nothing left to buy 
I’ve been officially on the wait list for more than 2 years but I finally have MY blue RO and can chase the blue !

That first shot is stunning
Light must have hit the dial at the perfect angle. I am also surprised by the shade of blue, it looks a lot deeper and richer than I remember it.
Each shot is more bluetiful than the next, congratulations!
The wrist shots seriously look perfect on you. Which reference (or size) is this one…41mm?
15450 = 37mm
It should probably not be smaller but the size works great thanks to the case shape, even with my 18cm wrist. I also prefer the balance of the dial to the more “empty” 15500… and I have an offshore 42mm for when I want to go “big & bold”

Totally agree that this is so much nicer than the “empty” dial, and the 37mm looks so close to the 39mm in fit. I’ve been thinking about this recently and wondering “since when is 37mm too small?!” as opposed to it being a classical size that we accepted (and still do) for a number of PPs (and of course the STILL great Rolex Datejust 36mm). Ultimately, good move with this RO!
