My AP ROC
First post alert! I have been on this forum for several years but never posted anything. Thank you for all the beautiful photos and information.
Intro: I got into watches just a few years ago. From day one I was hooked on AP. My first was an AP SS Diver. Then a few Pams, Hublots, IWC and Rolex. Short story I sold all of them quickly keeping only a few but mostly my APs and the Rolex BLNR. Then I found my Grail.
I want to share with you my absolute grail in my collection. A limited Dubail AP ROC 39mm with a polished platinum bezel. The polished bezel is now back in the new sihh 2017 collection as a 41mm ROC.
This is the limited Dubail edition before the Dubail edition with the red hands and brushed platinum bezel.
The story of the research and purchase of this watch is another long story but I don't want to keep you from the pictures. I normally only share photos of this watch privately but you all appreciate AP like I do

If you have lurked here a few years, you know we are all very fond of the 39mm Royal Oak Chronographs. Your edition is quite rare and beautiful.

Strap vs Bracelet
I bought the watch with the bracelet but it was too short , buying the links for a AP ROC 39mm is quite a pain. So i could not wear it for around a month. I bought the links and at the same time the city of sails strap and conversion plots from AP. I tried the plots from AP Bands but they did not fit well cant recommend them. I love wearing the bracelet in the winter but swap to the amazing rubber for the summer. Both are very comfortable. What do I prefer. well the Rubber makes the watch super sporty like a small offshore. The bracelet makes it look very refined. Comfort wise the rubber is a little bit more comfortable because its so incredibly smooth. But it comes down to the clasp if it digs into your wrist or not. My wrists are pretty big thats why I don't have an issue there. If you have a bracelet go get the rubber as well its a nice change

A rare specimen indeed, I remember handling it at Dubail place vandome almost as if it was yesterday (it was around 10 years ago) if I remember correctly

I, too, am very fond of the 39 mm ROC and recall handling this one during a trip to Paris. It was one of two watches I saw on that trip that I would regret not buying.

The journey to this watch was a very windy one. I was actually looking at an Offshore the Sincere Limited with Tantalum bezel and was close to buying that, but it didn't feel as this would be the one (still regret not also buying that one as well 
). I was always looking for a limited edition of something with something special. But I didn't exactly know what.
). I was always looking for a limited edition of something with something special. But I didn't exactly know what.I was then looking really hard for a normal black or blue 39mm AP Chrono because its just perfect. The 39mm AP ROC is just so nice. Nearly bought a black one.
Then this popped up with basically no description. I looked at it and said to myself wow thats a rare piece. Waited a few days and did nothing. Waited another week or so, scared of it being sold, always thinking could this be the one watch. The one you always wanted It ticked all the right boxes. Special material, limited, still under the radar, perfect size.

I went back to it every day looking at it, then I got the bug and started my research and found nothing about this watch and I looked everywhere on the internet. Only a post here about the newer Dubail Limited edition (thank you all for that) was what I found and made me more interested.
So I was really unsure what this was. So I called AP and emailed them, they where so nice and confirmed this watch and serial number existed exactly like this.
Still a little uncertain I called the Dubail Boutique in Paris and asked them very politely in my best french if they could help me out.
They where super kind switched to english and even remembered the sale of this edition and where really happy to hear about it again and confirmed the polished bezel.
2 days later I was on a flight to the seller and bought the watch from a trustworthy seller (because buy the seller not the watch).
I know it, i've tried it in Place Vendome
it is an amazing watch! i like the heft of the platinum bezel.
