if it was a 20k piece, a chronograph or some simple model, i can accept that they toy around with them. 

I feel the best would have been to release one version in each metal ( Ti, Pt, WG, RG ), and one Enamel.... And NO limited editions at all.

And each one with its own dial. 

Yes, the one you mentionned was the LE of 8 pièces for Sincere. 

All this doesn't remove my love for mine, though...

JLC gives the feeling they are waving a bit in finding the right one?

Not when they are totally different, but look at the Titanium version, then the LE platinum coming with the same dial than the Titanium, then the White gold with the same dial, with the difference of the colored gold indexes and hands....

This question would have not crossed my mind if we had a Pt, a Ti, a WG, a RG, and, maybe, a full enamelled version....

For our study of the subject, even the most prolific and knowledgeable JLC photographer collector of modern times (cough, Nicolas, cough) must employ factory images and confirm the existence of some variations with the factory

Its hard to fault JLC for overexposing the watch if the variations themselves are so rare as to defy photography, and many of the special editions were geographically specific (I think even the DLC/Orange was for a Mexican JLC importer), so they're scattered to the four corners of the Earth, not clustered in a Geneva showroom.

I can see the objection to over-iteration in the case of watches that are supposed to be exclusive (AP, Hublot, looking at you), but when the watch is this rare (5-600 in five, six years?), it's easy to forget any variation that one doesn't like; the MMR is so rare that the offending example may never be encountered in real life.

I deeply admire your dedication in compiling this list. Without this thread for reference, it may be impossible of anyone outside of JLC to compile a complete historical account of the MMR. This thread is a like an historic document in many ways.

Actually, I think we are more around 800 pièces in 6 years.

But you are correct, I never saw the Sincere Pt Edition in my life, nor the Black and orange one, which was made for Asia or Dubail, I can't remember...

Some I totally ignored, too....

And maybe I missed a few others!

That black dial boutique model is drop-dead gorgeous.  I enjoy several of these variations, but versions like the Boutique LE make me glad that JLC decided to experiment.

As I recall, the original A. LeCoultre in platinum was a polarizing design, and the Ti that followed was much better received. In fact, I have yet to encounter a single JLC fan who does not adore the Ti.

Concerning the rest, they offer different alternatives for those who admire the underlying horology but had reservations about the A. LeCoultre's idiosyncratic dial design. Exclusivity is assured for all examples.

I fell in love with he MMR in 2005, with the A Lecoutlre version, the platinum, to be precise...

I was amazed, delighted but such  a daring offer, an audacious interpretation of a noble complication.

But this was nothing in comparison of the Ti MMR...I was completely mad ( and still am ) when I discovered it.

Personally I'm a true fan for your Antoine LC
in Titanium ! IMO, it has it all :

Conceptual design, light weight, looks AND the
open dial, giving visual depth ;
- which Is mesmerizing, augmented by the
color accents by the screws and last but not least,
the chime.
... Oh, BTW: it's a splendid watch as well !!

The difference, other than the dial and the metal of the case, was that the Antoine Lecoultre beared A/ Lecoultre Signature on the movement.

You see, with so many itérations, we loose track!

.. also to me, is it " Piece Unique" for really very, very few vs Iterating ,
that the " Want-to-Haves ", happy ones loose track - exactly as you described !..

The regularity of the work of the movement... This movement has a 15 days power reserve. So, if during this long autonomy, the torque goes too low, you give the crown one Wind or two, and it will be ok.

... and regarding the repeater: can you choose between off, on for minutes, on for 1/2 hours and on for hours? How does the sound compare to Memovox?

And the Minute Repeater is activated. One ding for each hour. One ding dong for each quarter, and one dong per minute.

As for the sound, it is much more elaborated than the Memovox... It is not the same Financial league, either...
