I have been a bit grumpy lately when it comes to (some) of the new models (though less so over the last 3 years as I think the line-up is becoming better than the 2000 decade offering). But this one is someting I really like.

Congrats to JLC for bringing us such a nice watch.  Actually, I think this movement is way to big for the wrist watch, and so it really makes sense in its current format  (rather than in a wristwatch that is barely wearable)

And the way it has been designed is both a tribute to the 2 grande complication watches from the 1930's and a modern take as well which echoes the current duometre designs. So well done.

I for one applause the return to the fine art of pocket watches

Take some decent photos of them, as it was tough to do so in the JLC booth during the SIHH.

In particular Grande Reverso Tourbillon Squelette with new calibre 863SQ that reminds me beautiful Reverso Platinum Tourbillon Squelette from 2004.
Chased and engraved bridges are elegant and masterful addition to techniques of known calibre 848SQ from 2004.

Also this skilful engraving we can see as details of 876SQ movement known from earlier Master 8 Days Perpetual SQ.
New watch with this calibre and fantastic blue enamel circles is great.

I have discovered recently the very best way to learn of and view watches which you cannot simply see in the stores is through video. Computer scans and even live shots with a camera really do not compare to a product being handled on video. I wish all of SIHH/Basel could be presented in this manner. It feels so much more real! Thanks for sharing.
