I like them all, maybe the SS 'white/silver' dial the least, but still a lot... I like the ss black dial best in pics... but this RG might ultimately be my choice in this model because it eliminates even the faintest whiff of the pedestrian about this piece... (faintest whiff may still be an exaggeration, but you get my meaning.) The rg gives the watch depth somehow. Very nice!!!

I guess I'm "maturing"...
I've been feeling the need to get something a little dressier lately as I've got several sport watches, but none that I feel is my go-to dress watch. I'm not ready to go completely dressy, but needed something with a little flair, a little sport, and a little dress.
I had some things in mind and tried a few on, but when I saw this one in the AD after seeing some posts of its SS brother, it was over. The "pink" gold looked almost bronze, and just shimmered against the silvered dial and blue hands.
Because I sold two Panerais recently, I felt less guilty about making this purchase, and still might cull the stock a bit more. I took some quick and dirties with the iPhone outside the AD. I'll post more in the coming weeks.
I never thought too much about gold, but this just really hit me...even at 40mm it feels perfect. So, while I love my 42, 44, 45, 46, AND 47mm watches, I guess I'm "growing up" (or old??) and feel this one looks fine on my wrist.
Styles and materials come and go, but to me this one can't ever go out of style.

An elegant choice
yet, as you mention, still retains a sporty character with the chronograph. congratulations. Will you change your accessories--rings, buckles, cuff links, etc.--to match the rose gold?
Not that middle aged!
All jokes aside, I never thought about getting a matching buckle for the watch. I'll let the silver dial avoid clashing with other accessories!

I believe I understand what you mean...
For me it's hard fathoming spending this kind of money on a watch, yet I realize that the value of these things can't be measured by a cash register. I first showed a pic of the watch to a friend, and he said that "for the money, it doesn't stand out enough". I couldn't disagree more.
This timepiece, no matter how classic, can be seen by some as "plain". However, in this case, "plain" is elegant and beautiful, at least to me. I also think this watch displays value that many others don't, which makes those other timepieces even more difficult for me to justify, no matter how beautiful, special, or limited in production they are, nor who manufactures them.
When I saw pics of it posted in SS, and the boutique version in SS with gold hands and markers, I thought that JLC modernized a relatively common-looking chrono dial in a dressy case, but it somehow struck me as different. The black faced dial in SS looked handsome too, but I wanted a lighter dial in my stable. I compared it to others in its class, and I felt it separated itself by its design and movement. I couldn't help but feel it needed more "oomph", though, and then I happened by my AD and saw it in the gold. JLC's tone of gold just hit me like cupid's arrow. Having never worn a solid gold watch, I was surprised and pleased by its heft.
Again, I agree with your comments about the watch, especially so in today's market of watches that look more like art or engines than timepieces, and made with every type of metal or component of this earth. While I love and own some like that, this one in my eyes, and on my wrist, is a breath of air from the past and freshened by JLC today.

A stunning classic!
As everybody here knows – I am a no-chronograph guy…
But when JLC released this one last year, I understood that sooner or later I will go down that road.

As for the Master Chrono, it is a great examle of a modern chrono with a classic ( should I say timeless ? ) look.
The Rose Gold version adds a nice retro touch.
