Reverso Tribute Chronograph
I visited JLC’s London boutique yesterday to pick up my Amvox 7, following a service, and I took the opportunity to try the Reverso Tribute Chronograph and the Tribute Duoface Calendar, both in pink gold (the steel version of the Chronograph doesn’t have enough contrast between the hands and the dials for my taste).
The main thing that struck me when I picked up the Chronograph was the weight. It feels noticeably heavier than the Calendar, but still very comfortable on the wrist.
My preference between the two is for the Chronograph. The black and gold of the front dial is simple and stunning and the skeletonised dial of the chronograph dial is great too. With that said, on the Chronograph dial, the contrast between the hands and the dial is still not very strong. Perhaps blued hands would be a better option.
I didn’t take any pictures of the Calendar. It’s nice but the silver sunburst dial seems a little bland to me. I prefer the textured dial of the previous version.

A very stealthy chrono especially on the time only face. Only the pushers give it away. On the chrono side there really seems to be a legibility issue. The hands should definitely be more contrastful.
Yes, it’s a watch with a good look and feel but the legibility of the chronograph could do with being improved.
I totally agree with you on the textured dial of the Calendar, which is my favorite, too. As for the Tribute Chronograph, the more I see it, the more I prefer this one:
PS: And for much less, I would rather go for a Duometre à Chronographe, white gold; black dial.
The 1996 original is great. I have never really looked at the Duometre models - I should correct that because they are certainly interesting!
the price points are high
at these price points, they are other more compelling watches, even though these are really nice...
