Have you tried on both?
I haven't. But first impressions on this post sway me to the Rolex even though I find the GO to be more beautiful.
The bracelet is a compelling factor for me. The oyster case and cyclops as well altough people don't seem to like date windows that much.
I'm not a big fan of Presidents, Roman numerals in general, and fluted bezels BUT BUT BUT this may just be the watch to get simply because it flies in the face of convention (some might argue in the face of good taste or based on your collecting thema) ... that it's a Rolex, ugh, or too common, or it's for dirty old men, etc, etc, etc.
I consider it to be a rather fun watch to have ... But you gotta go all the way with a President ... Yellow screamin' gold ... But that's just me. You have enough serious/nice watches
If this watch is to be worn one month out of the year within a rotation, why is "robustness for daily wear" even a factor in your consideration? It's not as if ALL of the watches you have been considering aren't robust enough for daily wear; after all, that is what they were made for. Just politely curious. My choice would be the G.O.
