Ok Its Christmas time!!!
Time to TRY to make all wishes come true.
Time to revise the WISHLIST folks!
So how s everybodys wishlist changed throughout the year after all the releases and press files.Experiences, hours of playing with new watches at ADs,time spent speculating which direction to take,to go for an impulse buy or hold back till THAT purchase you ve been thinking about for months?
Waking up at night thinking of the next baby,or maybe the other one you just saw in the window...arghhh which one???
Compulsive buying ,but you promised to yourself quality over quantity so,,,think again....which one?
C mon give your list of desired dreams, affordable ones, reachable ones with a bit of sacrifice, simple dreams, graals.this years releases or old collections..anything...a list between 3and 8 pieces...this is the end of the year and it could be a good occasion to have the first" PuristS annual Watch Award" We will vote at the end....
Here is mine
1)Lange Zeiwerk Phantom.A dream still even though I havent seen it yet(but Olivers pictures don t help to remove this beast from my head)

2)De Bethune15/25.I am looking for a perpetual, and its very difficult to beat the utter awesomness of this beast. Not only the dial which is an example of exquisite things in life, but also De Bethune expertise, simplicity of reading, beautiful layout and on and on...which one ?the classic 15 or the new 25(basically the same but on a 25 case and automatic movement)?
My fav is the anthracite dial, not difficult to understand why really....

These are the top 5 at the moment.
Runners up are :
1)VC 1921
2)Ulysse Nardin Freak (blue phantom/28800)
These 2 didn t make it for the same reason which I won t say ,but I still love them.
Here you go...so eager to see more wish lists.....

To choose one to top the list... hmm it depends if that is the dream list or the list to work harder to get one on my wrist! Each one has it merits but also it negatives.
I like that..

Without talking about DeBethune, the VC chrono QP is marvelous Mo !
Funny as we all have our wishlists, evolving month after month.
Here is mine as of today (tomorrow is another day :p ).
The first one, above all, the DB 25 Silver dial (even if I love the QP too, this is one I would like to have as an everyday watch, so this version would be the most appropriate) :

=> Then, whithout a precise order :
.JLC - Duometre a Chronographe (RG or PT "Boutique"), or Master Perpetual 8 days SQ 1833 (RG), for the beauty of the dial. Because they both represent how I see JLC (very subjective)

.Richard Mille - RM 035 (high technique and beauty of the dial ... and, for the detail, a manual wound equiped with a "bride glissante" I don't know the word in english sorry :/

.Urwerk - UR 110 Torpedo (first steel version)

=> Then there are the watches I really like but less than the previous one (and that may be able to change) :
.VC - Historique 1955 (the most elegant and dressy 2 hands watch, for me)
.GP - 1966 Chronographe (RG)
.L. Leroy - Marine Chronometer certified (WG, white dial)

And, in the unaffordable category, I would place Greubel & Forsey Double Tourbillon Technique 30° (RG) (finishing, technique pushed very far, a watch not to wear but to put on a shelf, even if one can think the tourbillon lost a huge part of its interest in a bracelet watch) :

Hope Santa Claus is generous this year !
Best,
Mark

All images taken off the WWW. there is one brand that is particularly represented!! No Independents or AHCI, first time in three years. No Pateks, first time in five years. my wishlist also reflect certain views I have about marketing fluff and over pricing by some brands, new and old. Value, a virtue learnt slow and forgotten fast....
I was planning for such a post actually...but glad you lead the way mate.
Cheers,
Horo
I am still in love with the 1921 as well, but there is a little but....
As far as Lange, well as you can see its almost in everybodys list...talking about quality...
I think we should start arranging that trip in Glasshutte......no?
Best my friend

So here's mine (sorry to copy the format):
Wish (likely to come true):

Somewhat Attainable (may come true only under the most optimistic conditions):

Dream (not just for 2012, but for the forseeable future, sorry I don't have an Aspirational category hehe):

I am very happy to see that....with a pinch of Kari which is always good to admire.
Hope your Horodreams will come true.
