12 Jan 2008 : A Group of 18 Malaysia PuristS visited Singapore. Among them, there are 4 pieces of the Discus ( with a few more on the way...). However, we've forgotten to take a group-wristshot!
Fortunately not all was lost, we have some pictures of the White Discus
Thanks to 'Sleng' who purposedly brought it with him just to show to us.
Some pictures... Enjoy!

Picture 1 : Notice the differences are the white crystal and the 'chrome-like' bezel and caseback. Other differences are the crown, straps and the deployant buckle colour.
Picture 2 : This WHITE Discus showed a detail which I missed previously (which is also existed on the BLACK Discus too).... Take a look at the Side of the bezel and the caseback. They are in Brush-Finishing. However the top-side of the bezel and caseback are glossy 'chrome' finishing!
Subtle detailing.
The body (with the lugs) is the same as the BLACK, in black colour.

The crown follows the colour of the bezel & caseback, in white.

With a white crystal, the watch appears to be bigger than diameter 41mm.

Under direct lighting, the discs appeared clearer than the BLACK Discus.
One thing for sure, the "SEIKO" logo will not be able to enter 'Stealth Mode' - disappears right in front of your eyes

Deployant colour matches the bezel & caseback.

The straps come with white stiching.... pretty cool.

I still prefer the understated BLACK though the WHITE is pretty nice.
What about YOU?
Kong
Maybe because the white gives it a more futuristic astronaut NASA look
Cheers,
Anthony
i.e. a bar or restaurant
the white crystal distracts from the business part - the time indicator discs.
So I prefer the black version.
On the other hand, in-the-wild, the white is less "common" and maybe a matching pair would be cool?

to get one. i know theres a guy in Austria who's got one, but he's not on this forum.
mine arrived 10 minutes ago and i've just fitted it to my wrist. feels superb. read through manual quickly. according to manual it has screwdown crown, but it doesnt. does anyone elses?

Graham
but my manual is in Japanese and english.

still cant think why the manual states it has a screw crown when it doesnt. strange, but true.
Graham
I couldn't resist. What can I say!

Enjoy
cause of his fabulous review!

I think he should be rewarded by Seiko. And scolded by us. I have a white one on the way also.
It really is a pretty cool watch on. Nice size and mass. Cool strap and deployant buckle.
Thanks Kong.
I always take things to the extreme or their logical end which ever one I get to first.
Believe me in a white gold case, nice croc strap and white gold buckle and some fancy diatribe; not to mention some fancy name "SMDC" DiscBurg this piece could command a real premium in the market. Just because we know it is a Seiko and Seiko equals value i.e. less expensive than a Swiss watch you don't get the bump. Seiko like rolex suffer from their successes as companies that deliver value with strong price retention.
Oh well it is what it is. Photos soon when whitey shows up; already given my "SMDC" DiscBurger and fancy nickname.

Art you can't give away my trade secrets!!!
I just got my black Discus and I notice when the watch hits exactly on the Hour Mark (for example 5:00P) the three plates do not line up correctly, the 3 disc should read 5,00,00 perfectly between the Green arrow markers, on my watch the hour disc is slightly off, is this normal? Hope I am not the only having this problem...
Thanks.
Jimmy
The watch really needs a better strap... : (
