Personally not a fan.
I know it’s a collaboration but this feels like de Bethune is being forced to accommodate a Louis Vuitton aesthetic that doesn’t naturally belong in that language.

It's not bad...
...and that is a terrible way to describe something that should be WOW. I don't dislike it, the little day/night indicator is very DB, even though seeing it move through a 24 hour GMT display makes that somewhat redundant. The blue is very DB as well, and works well. The clock is awesome, not gonna lie.
I like it, but I absolutely adore the Kari Voutliainen collaboration. This is somewhat less intriguing, but I'm glad LV's investment in DB is leading to additional attention to the brand that seems a little lost.

The hands and lugs on the original are easier on the eye than the LV collaboration in my opinion.
I’m not a fan of branding on the case of the LV. The only branding on the original is the De Bethune name on the underside of the pin buckle - invisible in wear!

The LV Starry Varius GMT is around 3x the price of the DB in Titanium - arguably DB’s signature material. 😳
So pay 3x for a heavily branded version of the original which eschews branding.

This is not a collaboration like MB&F for Bulgari, it’s a DB movement placed into the LV case.

First I hated it and with a little time I changed my mind and now I really like it and since budget/value is right out the window on this one, I'll take the clock too 😂
I think the application of some of the LV design codes do dumb down the De Bethune original and that's great! The traditional lug shape, more straight forward hands and markers, less romantic but easier to digest and maybe this will introduce the De Bethune brand to a lot more people. The KV collab was a layup home because his designs are already fairly classical, this takes De Bethune down from maybe an 11 to a 10 and while that might not be a good thing for the watch nerds that already know DB, for the LV crowd I think this is an easier design to appreciate and good bridge for people to get to De Bethune. The starry LV logo is pretty cool even if a little too much for me and I much prefer it as an artistic element than the butchering of the V in the Voutilainen logo.
And lets not forget the clock! The clock takes this collab beyond the RR and KV collabs and so there's balance, more watches at a lower price with more accessible design and then two pinnacle clocks that are serious in every way. Plus, after drama with FPJ and the Breguet clock, this feels like a bit of a throwdown by Denis and I love it! The clock and watch combo is a huge artistic and engineering flex that I think shouldn't be understated because of the LV association.
😂 You just need some beer goggles. Imagine there was no LV branding and the watch and clock combo were offered at $200k, then I bet you'd be excited to take that home 🤣

Not a good marriage. The original case is so much better.
Of course the impressive part is the the sympatique where the watch itself is not so nice to my eyes.
So far all 3 collabs are terrible looking

Obviously LV paid a ton of money to DB to make this vomitrocious creature. I can't imagine why they would have done it for any other reason. An embarrassment.
