Just a little photo of the watch with a new ostrich strap. The watch is just so good! Case, dial and movement is so well made by Christian and Hanne. A new chapter for actual danish watchmaking has begun. Enjoy your Sunday!

Very beautifully executed 

To begin with I was much more into movement finish and had a dream of a Dufour, but I must admit that dial and not least case manufacture has won me over. To some extent at least. I can assure that the 6 internal angles on this one is paper sharp, and the bevelling is just right and in a way more danish (Scandinavian) by not being super wide... It is fantastic to see the support from collectors making it possible for Christian to keep the art of casemaking alive.

Christian may very well have used the same type of milling tool to create his own case

If I recall correctly he uses 3 Beutler, a pantograph and one or two other. Just for the cases. Below are some pictures from the prototype making, including one of the pantograph model. First many brass samles, then silver and finally the gold when the collector has decided case material. The case shape might evolve a bit for each iteration.

Does he allow for dial customizations?

Problaby if he likes the idea (follows his design language) and something he or Hanne can do themselves.
Something like full numerals, index only, 3,9,12, engraving stuff could possibly be made. Also different variations of metals: WG, YG, RG, silver, german silver etc

The strap pairs well too!

Yes, the strap pairs super well. All the engraving is done by hand so it has the artisinal look. Some of you might recognise a slight similarity to Vianney Halters classic dials. Not a coincidence, but small (approved) hommage ;-)

I know they are busy working on the movements! Actually they have been working on them for close to 2 years now, but things take time, and there have modifications along the way, making it even better.
It's a good wait since it's pure manufacture time and not artificial...
Once the movements are up and running they should start to roll out. Dial and cases are super labor intensive though, so the last steps are one at a time...
Which case and dial are you thinking of getting?
I personally was close to ordering a rose gold dial, so I would love to see that and perhaps order one to be put in for the next service if possible.

So the case, dial, crown, hands, buckle etc. all designed, manufacture and finished by Christian and Hanne. On this watch the wheels, springs and balance is from a late 40s GP27 (a formula 1 version of the AS1130). Hard to beat the quality of wheels and pinions from back then! Everything hardened steel of the best "handmade" quality. The rest, mainplate, setting system, bridges, breguet overcoil and special ruby sphere hairspring stud adjustment (old idea used by Breguet and Berthoud in ship chronometers) is made by Christian. He has started to make his own wheels and balance wheels now, so for future projects, only springs, rubies, sapphire crystals, straps and gaskets will not be made by him.

The idea was to have something more organic looking in the watch. Like a little sapling growing out of the soil.
I believe a variation on this will be carried on into his future projects.

The hands are blued, but has this ever so slightly purple color to it. They are individually made, cut and polished to shape. I love how the whole watch has this special handmade feel to it. Great to see especially casemaking at this level preserved and made using the old machines from Patek.
I will be happy to share more specific details and pictures.
