Today announced the Legacy collection. He has discontinued production of a number of his iconic pieces including the Logical One, Prestige HMS and Prestige HM.
Needless to say, I feel very fortunate to have recently acquired a white gold HM, a watch that I've been eyeing for a long time.
Very interesting move.

This is one of the more under rated watches imho, the levels of finishing and when one understands the design of the caliber and why Romain chose these aspects, it's seriously compelling in my world.

I know there’s a “Logicial Two” in the pipeline for a number of years and I believe he’d said 2021 or maybe 2022 when we’d see it.
But right now, I see “Legacy” being the same as what several other manufactures currently do, that is sell used watches. Like Journe, the focus here is on discontinued pieces. In the case of RG weren’t several of the references executed in small runs and then a new dial, metal etc combination was produced? So, there are lots (relatively speaking) discontinued RGs.
I’ll be the first to admit if I made a mistake.

Legacy as I understand it
No, this is not (like others) a pre owned opportunity via Romain, it’s a list of models he will no longer make in any form.
This includes the HM - of which there were never more than the originally announced 38 in each of the four metal combinations (white gold, platinum, and two rose gold version with different dials).
As a collector with several of Romains pieces I’m excited to see him supporting his collectors by keeping supply small and excited to see what’s next.

In the Logical One there have been limited version (i.e. the original platinum of which there are 20 which sold out years ago) and unlimited versions.

Marketing nonsense
I love Romaine Gauthier ... I have a logical one. This legacy announcement seems to me like marketing nonsense. I can understand making a whole range a legacy but placing limited editions pieces which sold out a legacy makes no sense to me. Every brand makes limited edition pieces. Maybe they wanted somewhere separate for them on the website but I find the whole thing confusing and unnecessary. Just my thoughts

i guess if u order a bespoke of version of those watches he will gladly make it as it cost a lot more to make a bespoke version
i saw in an article he said that if u want a bespoke version it automatically cost 20 000 more at once and it might cost more depending on what you ask

A single page on their website that displays their past collection. I also think they will be retiring other models in the future and those will be archived in their Legacy page. I’m sure there’s a marketing angle, but that’s how I see it
