All-right, I couldn't just leave my friends here, and myself, off with a meager AI concoction of what a plastic Overseas made by Swatch could, hypothetically, look like; I had to 'take the plunge' to my local boutique and see a couple of their pieces for the first time in the metal. Fortuitously, they had an already sold 2026-edition 1921 in 36.5mm, and a retrograde date/moonphase Overseas. Perhaps easily assumed, I loved both pieces, but one stood out to me considerably more than the other, at least in these exact iterations - I am deliberately not divulging which one immediately since I'd love to read your opinions on which of the two imparted the stronger effect ?? ........

it doesn’t really sing to me. So I would think that it’s the Overseas which appealed to you. I’ve tried it on back in 2023 but it gave mixed feelings: the mix of dressy and sporty felt a bit strange: I had a more convincing experience with the silver dial dual time personally.

Please tell us what were your feelings!

I actually much preferred the supremely grainy 1921 dial, with the gorgeous contrasting blue Breguet numerals!! I wasn't honestly expecting that to be the case so easily, but the delicately elegant and detailed nature of that dial can ONLY be appreciated in person, the pictures (including my wristshot) don't do the dial any justice, it's simply too delicately detailed to come across in anything but in-person or MACRO images.... The details stand out considerably more than on the previous silver-dial, black numerals iterations, and I could compare it directly since the sales advisor was wearing the older variant in rose gold! I expressed my interest in eventually getting a 1921, but I am still undecided on whether to go with a rose gold or white gold, I've always been partial to white gold watches, and I am also undecided on 36.5 vs 40mm, I have a 17.5cm wrist which is perfectly suitable for both sizes, I'm afraid the smaller one could get a little bit 'lost' on my wrist.... I have also asked to be shown a 40mm size 1921 as soon as they have one at hand........

which is not for me, but then I recently had my own “you have to experience it” experience with the Cornes de Vache! Judging from the single wrist shot, Filip, I think the 40mm would suit you better. What keeps you from posting more?!

I feel that I can pull off a 40mm without any issues, the 41mm Overseas was a good enough fit itself, and it's considerably bulkier than the 1921.... You mean posting more pictures or something else?? I only took these three shots, and one more that ended up being blurred....

Don’t be shy next time, hehe. I usually ask whether it’s okay to make a picture, which it always is, and end up making several.

This way, I was making a deliberate decision to spend more time actually paying attention to the watches with my own eyes than creating images to share here or wherever else ....

Now, I do think a white gold 40mm piece would better suit my physique and tastes, but the dial on this new version is truly Sublime!!

It's a fairly new boutique, in the heart of Beverly Hills.

I love the grained dial and blue numerals and hands of the 1921, but the Overseas would suit me more. It doesn't have the elegant dial, but it compensates with the lovely complications.

I had literally told the sales advisor that I have a relatively active lifestyle, both personally and professionally, and that practically-speaking the Overseas would easily fit my 24/7 life-cycle more than, perhaps, any other watch on the market today.... I definitely have more random and deliberate activities than fancy outings/dinners, so let's see if I can eventually try out one of the Cardinal Points pieces, and if that affects my decisions.... I will say that this salesperson emphasized that, purportedly, each boutique will only have a ridiculously small allocation of Cardinal Points pieces for any given year, she specifically said she expected the Beverly Hills boutique to only have 2 pieces allocated for the year! I was bewildered with that statement, and I have no idea how authentic it is, but the apparent strength of those releases was that they were NOT a limited edition like the Everest was, and that a tangibly higher number of customers could ultimately get their hands on one........

I suspect that, like the 222, once the initial hype dies down the Cardinal Points will become more accessible.
