Last Friday, I was invited by VC New York, to see and examine the new novelties of the W&W 2026.

The event was well organized, the staff was fantastic(I happen to know them for a long time), all watches were initially prohibited from examination(behind glass windows), but a bit later, under the effects of champagne and other beverages, we managed to convince Mr. Alexander Schmidt President of VC America’s to open the doors and show us the new products and some other watches.

The Platinum Overseas was fantastic on the wrist, even if I’m not fond of salmon dials, it felt balanced and heavy

The Dual time, what can I say…?
It became 1mm thicker, and longer than the previous reference, which is way to big for my taste and I think the new micro rotor movement while visually appealing, it lucks the old ones finishing.

Ohh, I forgot to mention, that while it does have seconds hand(a plus for me), it doesn’t “hack”, which is a huge disappointment for me in 2026!
The one I liked the most, was the Historique 1921 Rose in 36mm(sorry no picture).
That was a hit for me, sadly no lefty version so I asked if it can be made as a special order and the answer was a categorical NO!
No customization for any model in production!

Well the 222 was a weird experience for me since I’m not really ready for this much Yellow Gold, felt like I’m an NBA team owner( which I’m not), but the comfort is undeniable.
Also was told that it can be ordered as a second watch(same games as everywhere else), and it takes at least 12-18 months, so not for me again

There were however to my surprise, guests who ordered all four variants of the “
Cardinal points” and with my little convincing, even the 1921! Yes, they ordered five watches each!
What can I say…this “finance bros”, know something I don’t

I was also told that two other guests payed on the spot for the Platinum Overseas with December delivery!

Off course we celebrated the orders placed and I even got a ride home from one of them, since the Maltese Crosses started to be a bit blurry torch the end of the evening…

As a closing…
The watches sadly didn’t impressed me(maybe I’m fatigued), but the event was definitely worth the time!
Thank you Vacheron, we’ll do it again next time!
Best,
Zsolt.
