I hear what you’re saying and I hear and read it more often that people mention that platinum feels heavy on the wrist.
In absolute numbers a pt version will be heavier than a gold one due to the higher density of the metal.
But I own several platinum watches and truth be told, I’ve never “experienced” them as being* heavy or uncomfortable.
What I do notice is the sensation of wearing such a precious metal. It’s hard to describe as it is purely emotional but it gives me a, by lack of better word, “rich” feeling to wear them
This is an exceptional nice watch, has tradition and legacy all written over it.
But funny enough, the first thought that came to mind when I just saw a glimpse of the photo was: “Hermès?”

Great iconic model, but
very heavy on the wrist and flat case-back=not comfortable on all wrists. Then WG feels a better choice for most VC collectors, even if non limited to 100ex as Pt one.
Reminds me the Datograph 1st gen in Pt versus Dufourgraph comparison.

In total agreement. Platinum could be felt as too heavy only with huge cases. [nt]

I often wondered how this one looks on the wrist.
I love the distinctive design of the case and the dial. Transports you back in time, in a very good way!
Sadly I never had the chance to see one in real life. And with this case, it really is very hard for me to imagine how it looks on the wrist. I hope to experience it one day.

One of my favorites yet to experience
Sometimes I feel that it is only a matter of time before I hunt this one seriously. I think if one comes along at the right time and price, I will not hesitate. All three version os the Toledo are lovely, but the gray dial of the platinum kills me. The photo you posted is washed out and you cannot see the deep shade of gray in contrast with the bright platinum case. This is not a small watch, and is best for a larger flat shaped wrist, but it maintains the proportions of the original cioccolatone from the 1950s. The details of the dial are fascinating and the case is sexy as hell. I have never found a moonphase watch that I have liked well enough to add to my collection, but the Toledo is a top candidate. Yes, this one is for me...someday, I hope. Thank yo for the reminder about this beautiful complete calendar.

Fortunate to have one
I purchased one at a Sothebys auction 5 or 6 years ago. I really love it. I am, however, a lover of heavy watches. I like to feel the weight on my wrist.
