Ulysse Nardin has just announced The Blast Moonstruck.
The watch reproduces the moon’s rotation, and replicates the movement of the sun around the globe and the tidal flow. It’s an interesting concept, to make a geocentric display that is relatively easy to understand, even for a beginner with no knowledge of astronomy.
The watch is housed in a 45mm case to enable all the information on the dial to be legible. Finished in black ceramic and black DLC-treated titanium. The movement is self winding and the complications include Dual Time, Moonphase and Perpetual Calendar.
The cost of adding this one to your collection will be approximately:
In complete agreement here dear Gordon, hope they return to the classic designs, and the super unusual complications that UN is famous for. One can always dream...
But I don’t like the case. Should have been rose gold or steel. I find that for me UN often gets most of the details right but then does something that turns me off.
The dial is glorious, peak UN in my mind. The case simply purposeful and emphasizes the dial instead of the case itself. Do you know which stone was used for the Sun pendant and which for the Moon? Well worth the asking price in my opinion.... Cheers, Filip
Really impressed by this release. The complications, the way it works ….. all very UN from their best era. But its looks and is cased in a modern and current way. Bravo!
