"浜離宮恩賜庭園 (Hamarikyū Gardens / Hama-rikyū Onshi Teien) is a public park in Chūō ward, Tokyo. Located at the mouth of the Sumida River, it was opened to the public on 1-April-1946. A landscaped garden of 250,216 m² ... the park is surrounded by a seawater moat filled by Tokyo Bay. It was remodeled as a public park on the site of a villa belonging to the ruling Tokugawa family in the 17th century." — source Wikipedia

Love that skyline, nighttime frame. Beautiful.

If I remember correctly the photo was pre-dinner and still light enough for a twilight shot... plus I could avoid any impact on my technique due to some great wine. Casey .

I’d pair that view with a Vangelis soundtrack :-)

 By: Echi : March 21st, 2022-00:07

Vangelis would be an interesting combination... 😉

Evángelos Odysséas Papathanassíou (known professionally as Vangelis), is a Greek musician known for composing scores to the films Chariots of Fire (1981), Blade Runner (1982), Missing (1982), Antarctica (1983), The Bounty (1984), 1492: Conquest of Paradise (1992), and Alexander (2004)... as well as a discography of 23 studio albums to date.

ゴジラ (Godzilla) "King of the Monsters", the fictional figure from a series of Japanese films. The character who first appeared in a 1954 film became a culture icon, appearing in 32 films produced by Toho, four Hollywood films, etc. etc.

That's him

You know your Godzilla facts! Are you a fan as well Casey?  Only thing is I don't want G to be fictional.  It would be great if he was alive swimming around and stuff.

Not a fan, but always enjoy a good movie ;-)

It looks almost like a very accurate 1/1000 scale model. And the Moon adds drama and a philosophical perspective, of course. Excellent and enjoyable. Thank you.

I agree... the perspective turned out nice...

a wonderful shot with a lovely, cool bluish tinge overall...
also shows the amount of energy to keep a city going 24/7.

Thank you W72

My first time at that restaurant... the food was excellent. Casey .

The City lights pop out nicely in the "almost" night.

I have always been tempted to take that helicopter early evening tour... not sure if it's still on offer and it's hit or miss with the weather, but it must be a fantastic view. Twilight (morning or night) is a favorite time for taking photographs... Casey .

Super view.

I found this list, not sure if it's accurate...

The 10 Largest Cities in the World - 2021 Edition

01- Tokyo, Japan.
02- Delhi, India.
03- Shanghai, China.
04- Sao Paulo, Brazil.
05- Mexico City, Mexico.
06- Dhaka, Bangladesh
07- Cairo, Egypt
08- Beijing, China.
09- Mumbai, India.
10- Osaka, Japan.

I have not been to Sao Paulo, Dhaka, Cairo, nor Mumbai... I use to think LA was large ;-)

I am surprised. I thought that Tokyo was in this " List of Ten ", but not at the first place.

I haven't heard when tourists will be allowed entry... and at the moment some shinkansen north of Tokyo are not running due to the recent quakes... patience is required... Casey .
