Put all your watches together. Set the time of all the watch the same at 6 o clock. Write on a piece of papers the names of all who doubt your watch. Include your middle finger in the foto........LOL. IF u can do that, you will silence all the doubters here.

Even then that doesn't say much, I am sure we all got friends with Pateks that we can borrow and snap a picture.  He could even be a watch dealer and has access at all times. 

its sealed by dealer and its not autthentic Patek manner of sealing the watch. My Russian dealer do the the same once the plactic sleeve is cut.
And, the Collector is saying that he is currently in Brazil world cup. Ok, why do not you just to the snapshot of your wrist from your phone and send it to Moderator?

Who cares what random people on the Internet think of you?  You know whether you own the watches or don't.  And if you do, you can be enjoying them while others here are jealously hoping they're not yours.    Life's too short to waste time trying to be a big deal on an Internet forum.  You seem to have the right attitude in my book.

whether the original poster is a collector of accumulator is irrelevant, and the terms are misleading.  i have been a watch collector for more than 15 years and have had a range of watches from Tag Heuer to Patek.  

As a "collector" myself for quite some time.. if I hit the lottery tonight.. first thing tomorrow morning I would be on the phone to my AD and numerous dealers to find me every piece I have always wanted but was unable to purchase. You name it I would buy it! And I would acquire them as fast as possible so I could enjoy the pieces I had dreamed of one day owning for the rest of my life.

if I was collecting so many watches AT ONCE, i would request that after flying to Geneva (private of course, at my cost) , I take delivery from either Mr. Stern personally.

This guy could be Steeeevie Cohen for all we know.. it's all relative. These pieces are like buying a pack of gum to Stevie. You never know someone's circumstances. No need to hem and haw for 20% back.. multiple phone calls and emails over months and months blah blah.. Tme is money.. you make more working in one day than months  of nudnicking over every piece.. "Sure I'll take them all". Doesn't make him any less of a collector just because he has the means to do so instantly.. it takes most of us years and decades to "collect" because we don't have the immediate funds to do as he or one who has can. If you can buy it and enjoy it now.. why not? Why wait if you don't have to? I wouldn't if I could afford it.. I would buy all the pieces possible. 

An item being expensive and value is always relative to the individual purchaser.   for a top tier investment banker or hedge fund manager that manages billions of dollars/euros/pounds, where time literally is money, paying extra to get what you want NOW is more valuable and economical than spending that precious time hemming and hawing over any discount.  or waiting to get quotes on the same watch, and thinking and thinking, and waiting and thinking.  maybe that extremely wealthy person would see many of us as schnorrers for asking for discounts and squeezing ADs for a few percentage points on such large purchases.  dont we have better things to do with our time??  i mean if you can afford to spend $100k on watch, you really CANT afford to spend $105k??  life is finite, why waste the time considering a purchase if you can afford it today.

And I agree with most of what you both write, especially in regard to funds and accumulating watches.  I too would buy up all my dream watches as fast as I could if I suddenly had unlimited funds and I would not feel a bit guilty about it.  I would not care if I was called an accumulator or if it was said that I don't have a true appreciation of the watches I am buying and I should spend my money on something else.   The thing is if this ever happened I would be so insanely joyous that I might post a picture of myself naked with my new millions in watches covering me in the shape of a thong, thus proving the watches were mine   On a serious note being friendly and welcoming should be the way to be,  I just think it  is hard to keep ones mouth shut when something looks and sounds so ridiculous.  Perhaps it would be better to not respond at all, but that is not very friendly.  People challenge each other all the time here in regard to facts or opinions, so why is it it wrong to challenge Jeff's motivation to post a couple of pictures of a few million dollars worth of watches, many of which are in plastic, saying he has bought them all in the last 6 months yet is waiting for some of them to return from the service center blah blah blah.  If he is for real all he has to do is put 1 of his amazing watches on and take a picture, tell all of us rude people to F-off and all is well.  Yet this has not happened.  Let's look at the who cares or who gives a s#!t about all of this in the first place.  Jeff cared enough to make his posts and share his amazing yet strange AP and Patek collection with us,  and many of the watch lovers responded because they care about people being real here whether they agree with their watch collecting ideals or not.  There is enough real stuff posted here that I disagree with and don't respond to that when I was reading the original posts that started this thread and my bullshit meter is going off I could not resist the urge to respond, and I  am obviously not the only one.  I think the people who care about watches don't like the idea of someone f#!&ing around on their website.  The one good thing Jeff has accomplished is that he has evoked some pretty passionate responses about collecting and what it means to be a collector.   What I take from this is there are accumulators, hoarders, flippers, zen masters, lovers of new, lovers of vintage, big spenders , little spenders, idealists, purists, people with all different tastes and ideas about what collecting is all about hanging out here.  The common bond is that regardless of what category we are in we are all truly fired up about watches.  As we are passionate about our watches it is hard to not challenge someone when they appear to be full of crap.  I think Jeff's true goal was to get us worked up, arguing, posting rants like this one and reveling in the chaos he has created.  If this is the case he has succeeded

"wow" to OP's collection and "wow" to the collective response.

As a long-time reader of PuristPro, this was actually my first foray over to the Patek Forum. Here is what I walked away with:

-  OP posts a great collection of watches and asks for opinions of what he should buy next
-  A minority of forum members were welcoming, the majority were, frankly, rude and exclusionary
-  OP conducts himself with grace and never flames back

If these responses are typical of what it means to own a Patek... I'm clearly in the wrong forum. Hope this was an aberration - I'll read a number of other posts to get a more balanced view.

Yes PP is definitely "different" forum

Reminds me of a friend with similar taste. Modern pateks are nice watches to begin with. Then you can take different routes such as ultra rare vintage pocket watches(eg:tourbillon pocket warches made for chronometer competitions) and important vintage wristwatches (patek 2499 maybe) if you are interested in the history of watchmaking. 

And indulge completely in your passion for horology.
It doesn't matter the prices and value and the speed of our acquisition if at the end of the day, we enjoy our watches and share our joy here.

I think some of the experienced members have given you good advice for your next watch or next PP. Take your time, consider some rare and "really a joy to hunt and own" vintage pieces and perhaps diversify into another brand beyond PP, etc

Enjoy your current collection. Wear them. Spend time and build a bond with then. Wear them on special occasions and during important events of your life. Maybe you might not want a new watch so soon next so you have more wrist time with your existing lovely collection!

that's a very impressive PP collection you have there. i am also a strong supporter of PP and understand your delight in this brand. They make wonderful watches which are so refine and warm.
