5396G purchased less than a week ago – love it so far.  Sorry for the blurry iPhone pic. 

My first PP so have one question for the more experienced.  My jeweler set the watch on 4/27 – on May 1 the day correctly adjusted from the 30th to the 1st but the month remained on April.  So I adjusted it.  Should this have happened?  I guess I will wait and see if it moves to June in a few weeks.

The month can get stuck on these models unfortunately.  The funny thing is that if you manually turn the crown the month doesn't seem to get stuck, which causes even greater confusion for the repairman servicing the watch.  

You will likely have to send your watch back for a full movement service.  

Beautiful watch!  One of my favorites!

...but it will be very hard to part with this watch for a while!  I'll just move it myself for the time being - not ideal but cant imagine sending it to NYC in the near future.  I wonder what the turnaround time would be on a fix like this?

Don't worry about it.

All I did was make sure, by use of the pushers that the months all changed.

Then I manually set the watch to last day of the month that it didn't change in and let it change naturally. 

It worked perfectly and has done ever since.

Yours corrected on its own.  I've seen a 5396R and a 5205G that just would not advance properly anymore.

I've seen a 5396R and a 5205G with this problem in the past 18 months; the month got stuck when the watch was in the winder or on the wrist, the month would not turn over.  However, the month would turn over if you pulled out the crown and manually advance the minute hand past the end of the month.  Very strange.

I experienced these on both of my PP annual calendar, 5960 and 5726. I bought both on the same AD and I assume the technician who set up both is the same guy. The month ring didnt change at the end of the month on the 1st time. On 5960, after I myself adjusted, all is fine. On 5726, I really wondered so I called the watchmaker in PP service center I know, he said the annual calendar module on both watches are quite similar. And there s the date that we cant start to set up on (I cant remember), otherwise the month ring wont move at the end of the month. After setting up the new date by his recommendation, my 5726 works fine. No need to open the case at all.

So no need to wait for a month, just have the new set up by using its pen to reset. Set up on a few days prior to your current day, then manually wind to your today day. Or you can try to manual wind from your current time till the end of your month, but I think the month ring still not  move.

and it would be like me to miss that.  But as you said, not in this case.  Its funny, what got me going down this path in the first place - I bought a JLC Reverso with a 24h hand on the second face that somehow went out of sinc.  So while they were getting me a new one I decided "heck, why not step up now, use this as an excuse to buy the PP".  So, I talked myself into the PP (I'm an easy sell).  So to your point, its the FIRST thing I looked for this time.  Though I do feel I am on a streak of bad luck sad

And I will take some of the suggestions here about trying the manual route before I send it back to my AD.  Even if it doesn't work I'll get to tinker with my new toy for a few hours smile

Dear Market Top,

So we have similar obsessions! I find it unusual that you would chose
Lamborghini! But thats what makes it interesting. The stereotype PP owner
I would assume drives around in a Aston Martin or Bentley or even Mercedes but not
Lambo or Ferrari.

Having said that I love PP aswell and drive Lamborghini's arch rival!

I've had Astons and Mercedes (never Bentley for some reason).  Porsche too.  But for some reason I have an affinity for the raw power of the Lambo.  Which of course is in contrast to the refined movement of the Patek.

I followed this instruction, and solved the issue.
