I've greatly admired the handicraft pieces from Patek and this is one I came across that I liked very much.
Pardon the not so good caseback shot but if you look at the micro rotor, you will see carvings of birds; a nice touch in my opinion.

Many thanks for this spectacular Patek! Rare Handcrafts are (as is probably well known! :-)) my favorite timepieces, for their stunning marriage between art and horology which Patek has historically been able to preserve at the highest levels! :-)
For our interested forum members, reference 5075 in enamel, which was introduced in year 2000 and offered until about 2004, is the direct predecessor (in a sense, along with ref. 5076) of today's incredible, out-of-catalog Rare Handcraft production: refs. 5077, 5086, 5088, 5089, 5738, and perhaps my favorite, 5177

The engraved rotor is more than a nice touch in my books! The colour gradient is just awesome, thanks for sharing this beauty
I'm sorry to say I find neither the emaillage nor the cloisonnage impressive. Some of the colouring & shading is downright simple - e.g. the blue and light green - the cell work is only adequate and the bird seems to be hanging on by its finger nails.
All opinions are obviously welcome and respectable Keith, but then let me just say you'll be *very* disappointed at much of the vintage artistic watch production, which goes back 400+ years (even if it might have been groundbreaking at the time! ;-)
What's actually interesting to note is the remarkable improvement between this or other 5075 references from 20 years ago (which I mostly find comparable), and today's production. Not sure whether you like them, but below are two of my favorite contemporary enamel dials (both under the new reference 5177, introduced in 2018)....arguably, most other Patek Rare Handcrafts are on a similar level today ;-)
However --- in this like in any other artistic or scientific (even mathematical!) discipline --- it will be VERY fascinating to look again at today's best work with the eyes of 20, 40, or 100 years from now!

Thank you, FabR. Objectivity, however, is available in the assessment of cloisonnage particularly. So, for example, don't you find this cell work by Donze Cadrans is demonstrably better than the PP piece?
You'll actually be surprised that Donze Cadrans did make some of these enamel dials for Patek in the past! ;-) I'm not sure whether this specific 5075 is due to them, but they certainly did some of the enamel work for the 5075 line around that time :-)
This is of course no longer the case today, and DC mostly works for Ulysse Nardin, by which they were acquired in 2011 ;-) Cheers.

Well, there are big difference between Cloisonne enamel and enamel miniature,
If you are looking for detailing, you should look for enamel miniature piece.
Besides, seeing in person could be much different from seeing in photos.
Good point -- a peculiarity of some of these earlier references which, interestingly, I have not seen in any of the more recent models (from refs. 5089 and 5077 on ;-) Thanks for commenting.
