Happy new year everyone! I have a little challenge for you below. Which watch is heavier, the Rolex 75th anniversary platinum or the 5976 40th anniversary in white gold?… Jim
Trick question Jim. The 5976/1G is WG and larger with more links whereas the 116506 is PT so more dense even though it is smaller. I would have to take into account how many links are on each bracelet to be sure 😉👍
Hi Justin thanks for participating, it really is not a trick question.

Hi Justin thanks for participating, it really is not a trick question. Platinum is 95% pure wow white gold is only 75% pure so you would think the Rolex is heavier, but the Rolex is 40 mm and the 5976 is 44 mm so the sheer size of the 5976 including the bracelet wins out… Jim
If someone had a larger wrist, it could be that the Rolex would win. But on a smaller wrist, the heavy case of the Nautilus would mean the Nautilus is more likely to win.
I think I recall the 5976 is heavier than the 5131P (which is about 240-250 grams) but I'll be curious to see how it fares vs. the Daytona...perhaps it wins again?? Cheers ;-)
The Patek will be heavier for sure but it’s a giant watch that you can predict will be heavy because of its size. The thing about the Daytona is that it’s a relatively small and thin piece with an unearthly weight for its size
