Great watch. I bought my first 5070G in 2002, hard to believe it has been 17 years. I recall at that time the Patek dealer gave me a 25% discount! I just fitted it with a new Cordura Nylon strap.
I do have a smaller wrist so it looks bigger than it is. I recall when the 5070 came out it was not popular because of the case size. In the late 90's early 2000's it was considered huge for a Patek. I personally prefer a 39-40mm case size...
Case size..Yes, depends on wrist size too..I was just generally referring to how Patek made a larger case size back then before the big case craze kicked in... [nt]
The strap was custom made by Camille Fournet, it has a deluxe calf leather lining which makes it comfortable to wear and it does accommodate the deployant buckle. [nt]
Probably one of the few that I really regret (I had to let it go some time ago to finance another great horological project)

I had thought for long this watch was not for me because of the large case vs my chicken’s wrist but actually when wearing it was a spectacular though not show of and quite comfortable watch. In the meantime I had to let go most of my manual wound watches for other reasons so it happens to be fine but I had a big big soft spot for my 5070 G. Enjoy yours and wear it in the best of health.
I think I got 25%ish off my 5070g. Wow was it that long ago. How time flies. I might just say I didn’t get as much discount off my 5070p. Those were the days hey??? Hope you still enjoy it as much today as you did back then. Enjoy. M.
