My take?
1. "Egoista" - if that is the final name, it'll rank right up there with Ferrari's LaFerrari. I know the competition between the Modena firms (Sant'Agata, Maranello) go all the back to Lamborghini's founding, but come on, guys...
'nuf said.
2. hmmmm...Reventon, Egoista...there were lots of Air Force flyboys among the pictures from the Grand Giro...maybe there's a stealth design department at Lamborghini manned only with pilots with top secret clearances? With the Air Force trend towards drones, maybe the certified pilots need something to do. (with all due respect to Fighter Pilots, one of whom, from the "bad old days" of real flying, from Sabrejets to Starfighters, is in my close family...)
In plain english, while I love the cool looks of a well designed fighter jet or helicopter, just like a great car or watch, taking "inspiration" and "design cues" too far is a simple, great temptation. hmmmm...seems like a subject ripe for a reference discussion...when is enough too much?
3. I thought Lamborghini's Chief Designer was Filipo Perini, who took over from Luc Donckerwolke. I thought Walter De Silva is now head of VW Group design, though during his stint at Lamborghini he was responsible for the aborted Miura hommage.
Ah, but Mr. De Silva and a specially assembled design team are responsible...So Special Forces does Automotive Design. Intriguing development...
A perfect name for a single seater car.
Not bad, not my style, but not bad.
thanks
