Alpine Seems Serious About Selling the A110 Sports Car in the U.S.

Alpine is rethinking its plans to sell EV SUVs in America and is instead performing U.S. crash tests on its next-gen A110 sports car.
I have good news and I have bad news.
The EV A110 will put 1400 kilos on the scale.
There will most likely come a hybrid with petrol and battery, this one will only weigh 1500 kilos.
Can you see the difference between the good and the bad news ?

I'd rather have:
120 hp for 850 kilos (Saxo VTR)
220 hp for 1230 likos (Clio RS)
300 hp for 1100 kilos (you know)
My Megane has 280 hp for 1460 kilos and I agree it drives fabulous .... but not as fabulous as the cars above ;-)
So a 1500 kilo A110 will also be fabulous, a lot more than my Megane I confess ... but it's just that weight figure ... that you will FEEL , no matter how.
The biggest issue
Will probably be to make sure the cup holders can take US size drinks

Let’s see what kind of volumes the next generation sells at. But if larger than the current one the US market would be a good bet indeed 👌🏻
They will, most probably... But the real question is to know if they will offer the A110 in a fueled version...

An exotic **EV** or low-ish end hybrid in the USA is destined to fail imho... like Jaguar... but only worse as 'mericans don't know Alpine at all. Reminds me of when they tried selling the Merkur XR4Ti in the States. Would say it's time to short Renault stock the moment they try USA sales.

The issue I've always had with these cars in the USA is the limited dealer and service network. The same would be true for Alpine. That said, if the cars are that good, I could see enthusiasm building, even a cult following. One key question is reputation and reliability. If the Alpines are solid in this regard, they'd have a much better chance.
Yes, must be reliable, and with parts availability.
Hope they can break into USA.... but even Lotus......
