Hot 'off the press' from earlier today during our yearly Christmas Brunch meetup. Believe it or not, there were some REAL Jaguars on the asphalt .... (tongue, cheek, firmly x)

That E-Type has been owned for decades by the Club President . The MC20 I saw for the very first time myself, an older woman named Olga (visible in image #10 wearing pink and red!) rolled into the meeting with it, the car looks hyper-modern and highly impressive in that context ....

the Silver Birch DB5 (all original, on red leather) owned by LONG-time member Joe who had bought the car 37 years ago ('87) for well under $20K in Cardiff, and subsequently moved to California a couple of years later, DB5 in tow. He drives the car frequently all around L.A., and people always ask him 'how much is it worth!?', he perpetually answers 'I don't know, and I don't wanna know.' ........

From what I recall, he had paid $12K in late 1987, for the MY 1966-67 DB5 which used to be a demonstrator car, and was therefore being sold as a used car, just over 20 years old at the time.... A deal of a lifetime ........

By the way, picture number 4 is a shot of the IMMACULATE engine bay of the DB5 ........

I've always loved Aston Martin and British cars generally, but there was always a huge age gap at local events that made it hard to mix and relate. I'm 40 now, so not a kid, but I remember the organized car club guys being 60+

I am exactly the same age as you are, turning 4-0 on December 10. I joined the Club back in December 2008, when I was a mere 24 years of age. In that first decade it was definitely a challenge to 'integrate' with people who were, on the lower end of the spectrum, in their late 40s and over.... As the years went on, and I accepted a formal role within the Club (communications manager), I feel I've integrated quite successfully now, and we're fortuitous to have drawn a number of new members who are right around our 35-49 age group! Just yesterday, we had two couples in their 40s who came out to a Club event for the first time, despite having owned their cars for a while. We're anticipating a great slate of events for 2025, beginning next month, so feel free to look at the webpage I continuously maintain, it'd be a genuine pleasure to meet and chat with you in case you decide to participate! Great news and a welcoming crowd - this is exactly what I had hoped. I don't have an Aston yet, but I'm sort of finding the right one. Price is less important than the character of the car. For a small marque, there's a lot of variety just since the V8 era began back in the 1969. I'm probably the only person who has any affection for the old circa 1989 Virage body style; those and the mighty V-cars were the Astons of my childhood. A generation one Vanquish S is probably where I'll land -- I'm still drawn to the Newport Pagnell cars. I'm based out east near Philadelphia.

because, despite being an ardent transportation enthusiast in general, I perceive their historical output as easily the most beautiful passenger vehicle designs ever to have been achieved. The mechanical qualities, and electronics reliability have varied significantly over the decades, so it's always best to thoroughly research any one particular model within the context of the production year range it was built in. The British section of the Club has dedicated forums for those topics that are a treasure trove of information, and can easily end up saving you a lot of headaches and money. The original Vanquish is an all-time great, and there are many lifelong devotees/owners who can tell you about every nut and bolt that car is made out of, they've done every service know to man on them, including manual gearbox conversions.... There's an equally active, and even better established East part of the Club, covering a significantly larger area of the US, including yours.
