one thing to add though
the clutch is very heavy on the 964 and 993. so with age and knee problems it might not be a good choice for everyone. that is why i sold my beloved 993 TT some years ago, although it already had a hydraulic supported clutch. Luckily, Sergio Marchionne (RIP) had the idea to build a go-cart-car like the 964 RS/ 993 TT but with automatic shift

Just so Beautiful, the 964, 993 and 996 are my favorite references from the 911 especially in Carrera form, I also love the 997GT3RSMK2
Most Unique 911
the 996 is very special and under rated. It gives you the best of old and new in a very unique avant garde style still a small car vs. the much bigger 997. If you look at the whole 911 line up from beginning till now, 996 is the most unique one. It is also the Toyota Porsche which makes it the best of both worlds.
Please watch this, imo the best 996 is the 98/99 Carrera basic.

The widebody has something which attracts me a lot, but I would be very happy with a normal one. ;)
This is the car I see in my mind when I think 911 or Porsche.
And this was my original target, but the Z was both a more economical and perhaps more fun choice. I don’t rule out moving the Z for a 964 though.
The other one for me is the 355. There are two in the garage where I park and every time I pass them they just get better and better (talking simply design/style/visuals).

For me, it would be the perfect garage, and the only exception to my 2 Doors car only.
A beautiful version - make sure you drive this reference to fully understand it as arguably it is showing it’s age.
I drove one, some years ago. There is much faster, now, for sure, and the behavior on the road is special, for sure, but it is such a car that I can live with that, with GREAT pleasure. ;)
