When Maserati dropped the characteristic tail lights

many car enthusiasts boooooouuuuht. Me also.
Another subject: .... when Porsche replaced the air cooled boxer for water cooled, and replaced the front lights for eggs, it was a giant failure. 911.
But when the engine is behind the front seats, 50/50 weight ratio, than a car is glueing like a gecko. Never experience it, so it is my wish to drive a Ferrari 488.
Rear wheel drive mid engine. And another way, engine in the front, but behind the front wheels 50/50 weight ration, Honda S2000.
Sports cars with the engine in the front, sure many driving good, at least it’s easier for the mechanics.
A question for Nicolas, is the Alpine a mid engined sports car? (engine behind the front seats)
The first time I drove this Maserati I’ll never forget. I had a song “Somebody Told Me” from The Killers playing on the radio. Windows were open. And the engine was singing. Great experience.
Interior is nice but will have sticky buttons as the car ages...

The car isn't extremely reliable. The manual transmission might be more reliable than the "Cambiocorsa" transmission which is a single-clutch F1 transmission (I drove the Cambiocorsa). But the car was overall nicely balanced, I'd say it has reasonably good handling, fun to drive, and beautiful to look at. Interior has a very special design, but some plastic parts have a rubber coating on them which will not age well (the rubber coating gets sticky). There's an optional "Skyhook Suspension" which gives you a sport button near the gearshift, this Skyhook is an early valved suspension. Might have some reliability problems now. Not every car has this, if it doesn't have it, it will likely be missing the "SPORT" button. And yes, that Jaeger instrument cluster is cool! Overall, it's a very nice and fun car to drive. I enjoyed it immensely for the one hour I had with it. But I've never owned one.
I've driven many cars, I've had several very nice cars as company cars. But to this date, I've never owned a true "exotic" car. Who knows, that may change one day.
