… something you wouldn’t mistake from across the room. I like the complementary strap. Thanks for posting a watch we don’t see very often.

I may be opening a can of worms here as I am not all that familiar with Rolex history. I believe that both the 5512 and the 1655 have been connected to McQueen.
I'll shoot from the hip at the 1655, but if you are insisting on year and exact dial/hand configuration I'm afraid that others will have to chip in - otherwise we'll never see those pictures...

Early 80'ies?
Looks brand new apart from the fabulous patina on the generous tritium that adds sooo much testosterone to this model!?
Fantastic! Enjoy it my friend!

I am very happy that you managed to find one of your liking after such a long search!!!
May it bring you many pleasures, and tonight, I will bring out the good tequila and celebrate in your honor!!

Friday started with a watch which is generally reserved for festive occasions such as Christmas, Australia Day and, of course, Easter. That is principally because the colours in the dial echo tin foil egg wrappers, gift wrap, flags and so on, a fact illuminated by Mike Ting one Independence Day (thanks Mike). Shallow, you may say, but if you have to have a reason it’s as good as any:
However: the dial is quite distracting: there was a moment’s inattention when putting the box away; the lid wouldn’t close, and it wasn’t clear what the problem was until….
Oh dear! Who was expecting the Easter Bunny to be enthralled by the J*D ‘Paillonee’ ??
“Honest, officer, he wasn’t there two seconds beforehand”.
It doesn’t look good…
To restore the happiness and myopic mythological beliefs of all of the world’s saccharine-dependent young Judaeo-Christians, it was necessary to effect a quick change of timepiece and attempt a PPro ABR bunny-resus. Anyone know the resting respiration count of a healthy stuffed miniature lagomorph?:
Sorry, Easter Bunny. Does this mean that you will be passing by our house on Sunday? Hope not – Easter is a great time for unexpected surprises… ;-)
May all of you and your families have a healthy and happy holiday season.
Cheers,
pplater.
My Paillonne resides in a box along with this watch, and the VH won out this morning.

Cheers from Maine,
Mike
