Not all vintage Grand Seiko's have the classic dial -   This one from early 70's houses the 36000 bph 6146 movement.    Original band and faceted crystal as well (see how the zero on the date is distorted in the photo.)   Better photos another time.

Hi Guys

Met with a friend last Sunday for coffee. We both bring some watches and straps and just chat.   Well that Sunday was a little different.  We wound up trading and I came home with a early IWC INGENIEUR with caliber 853 automatic movement.  The watch came with its original beads of rice bracelet ( Just not wearing it yet as I need to source some additional links).   Currently wearing it on an Ostrich padded strap and using an Omega steel buckle ( hehehe).

Generation of IWCs. Especially the 85xx movements.

I have a Yacht Club with the 8541B and I absolutely love it for:
Being most reliable and accurate
Being such an efficient autowinder
Its soft and crisp manual winding
Having absolutely NO slack when adjusting/setting time
...and much more

And that's a YC - the Ingenieur has all that history and aura to add.

Congratulations Bill!

The combination of the black dial, arrowhead markers and Arabics mark your 666 as being rather rare. The vast majority were silver dialed, and featured the classic Calatrava style markers. I also like the way that the black dial has patinated. Looking forward to seeing it in person!

I have had this old Zenith for a number of years now. I am sad to say that for a long time it was left alone in a drawer, but I have recently grown very fond of it.

The "Pilot" name on the dial puzzles me as the style doesn't exactly match other aviation dedicated watches I know with their black dials and white highly legible numbers. Anyway, It is a simple stainless steel case and the movement is nothing fancy (I don't think that this watch was ever meant to be grandiose in any way). I just like the old-school style and high "wearability".

I have given it a new brown ostrich strap which I believe accentuates the cream dial nicely. This soft colour scheme just perfectly matches the incredible, crystal clear, blue spring sky over Denmark today
